Job Summary

This hybrid Technology Architect role focuses on designing and governing scalable SAP solutions for supply chain operations in the consumer goods sector using advanced ABAP technologies. The architect will translate business requirements into robust technical designs mentor developers and ensure integrated workflows that improve planning manufacturing logistics and customer service creating tangible value for the enterprise and society through efficient product availability and optimized


Responsibilities

  • Design comprehensive SAP solution architectures that leverage core ABAP ABAP OOPS and ABAP Workflow to support complex supply chain processes in consumer goods operations ensuring high performance and long term scalability across hybrid work environments.
  • Drive end to end integration of SAP WebDynpro for ABAP and SAP WebDynpro for Java components with backend services to deliver intuitive user experiences for planning manufacturing warehousing and distribution teams in day shift settings.
  • Define technical standards and reusable frameworks for ABAP web services enabling secure reliable and maintainable interfaces between SAP modules and external supply chain platforms such as demand planning logistics and partner collaboration systems.
  • Collaborate closely with functional experts in supply chain consumer goods to translate demand planning order management and inventory optimization requirements into detailed technical designs that foster operational efficiency and reduced stockouts.
  • Review complex custom developments and enhancements in core ABAP and advanced ABAP OOPS providing clear guidance on optimization modularization and maintainability to help development teams deliver high quality solutions within project timelines.
  • Establish rigorous code review and performance tuning practices for workflows web services and WebDynpro applications focusing on response time improvements resource utilization and stability in high volume consumer goods supply chains.
  • Coordinate with infrastructure and basis teams to validate architecture decisions regarding system configuration transport strategy and hybrid access models ensuring secure and reliable usage for onsite and remote users in day shift scenarios.
  • Provide architectural oversight during project lifecycles including solution blueprinting design walkthroughs and build validations so that SAP solutions remain aligned with enterprise standards and support long term supply chain transformation goals.
  • Guide cross functional teams in adopting best practices for exception handling monitoring and logging within ABAP workflows and web services enhancing traceability and proactive issue resolution in production environments without travel requirements.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives by analyzing operational data from consumer goods supply chains and recommending targeted SAP enhancements that reduce manual effort shorten cycle times and improve service levels to end consumers.
  • Mentor and coach SAP developers and consultants on modern ABAP patterns object oriented design and scalable workflow configurations enabling them to deliver robust solutions that directly contribute to business resilience and stakeholder satisfaction.
  • Align architectural decisions with organizational sustainability and social impact goals by designing systems that enhance forecast accuracy minimize waste and support ethical sourcing visibility across the consumer goods supply chain.
  • Document solution blueprints interface contracts and technical design guidelines in a clear and accessible manner ensuring knowledge continuity and easier onboarding for future team members in the technology architecture practice.


Qualifications

  • Demonstrate extensive hands on expertise in core ABAP ABAP OOPS ABAP Workflow ABAP web services and WebDynpro for ABAP applying these skills to complex enterprise scenarios with at least nine years of progressive experience.
  • Show proven experience in deploying and optimizing SAP WebDynpro for Java applications integrated with ABAP backends focusing on usability performance and maintainability for large scale business processes.
  • Exhibit deep domain understanding of supply chain operations in the consumer goods industry including demand planning production warehousing transportation and order fulfillment with practical project exposure.
  • Apply strong skills in solution design performance tuning and troubleshooting across hybrid landscapes ensuring that SAP applications remain stable and responsive for day shift users in distributed teams.
  • Demonstrate competency in collaborating with functional consultants business stakeholders and technical peers to gather requirements validate designs and deliver fit for purpose solutions without supervisory leadership responsibilities.
  • Utilize sound knowledge of integration patterns error handling strategies and security considerations for SAP web services contributing to reliable data exchange among internal systems and external partners.
  • Display familiarity with modern development practices such as modular design reusable components and automated testing approaches in the SAP environment supporting continuous improvement and innovation initiatives.


Certifications Required

SAP Certified Development Specialist ABAP for SAP NetWeaver or equivalent SAP ABAP certification relevant to architect role.
