AV Support Technician
Location: Rahway – NJ (onsite)

Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled AV Support Technician to provide technical support for video conferencing, webcast events, executive meetings, and collaboration technologies across enterprise environments. The ideal candidate will possess strong expertise in audiovisual (AV) technologies, conferencing platforms, meeting room systems, and troubleshooting complex audio/video issues.
This role is responsible for ensuring seamless operation of conference rooms, hybrid meetings, executive presentations, and large-scale events through proactive maintenance, real-time support, and technical issue resolution.
Key Responsibilities
Video Conferencing & Event Support
· Prepare, configure, and test conferencing systems prior to meetings and events.
· Support onsite, remote, and hybrid collaboration sessions.
· Monitor live meetings, webcasts, and events to ensure uninterrupted service.
· Troubleshoot audio, video, connectivity, and conferencing issues during active sessions.
· Provide technical support for executive meetings, presentations, and large conferences.
· Ensure high-quality user experience across all conferencing platforms.
Meeting Room Setup & Readiness
· Prepare meeting rooms before scheduled bookings.
· Verify functionality of displays, microphones, speakers, cameras, and conferencing equipment.
· Conduct routine room inspections to ensure operational readiness.
· Identify and resolve issues before meeting start times.
· Report missing, damaged, or malfunctioning equipment.
AV Equipment Operations & Maintenance
Support and maintain:
· Projectors and large-format displays
· Video walls and presentation systems
· Audio systems, microphones, and speakers
· Video conferencing hardware
· Room control systems
· AV cabling and signal infrastructure
Key responsibilities include:
· Diagnosing equipment failures
· Maintaining cabling and physical connections
· Replacing faulty components and accessories
· Ensuring reliability and availability of AV systems
Preventive Maintenance
· Perform routine preventive maintenance through the MyIT Portal.
· Conduct scheduled inspections of:
o Audio systems
o Microphones and speakers
o Display screens
o Room booking panels
o Control panels
o Teleconference systems
o Wiring and connectivity
o Meeting room environment and facilities
· Document maintenance activities and equipment status.
· Coordinate repairs and service requests with AV vendors and support teams.
End User Support
· Provide technical assistance for employees using meeting room technologies.
· Support executives and VIP users with priority service.
· Deliver user training and onboarding for meeting room equipment and booking systems.
· Respond promptly to user-reported issues.
ServiceNow Ticket Management
· Monitor and manage AV support tickets.
· Review event and meeting support requests.
· Prepare rooms and equipment based on ticket requirements.
· Document actions taken and ensure timely ticket closure.
· Escalate complex issues to appropriate support teams when necessary.
Troubleshooting & Escalation
· Perform root cause analysis for AV issues.
· Verify system settings, signal routing, and hardware configurations.
· Troubleshoot connectivity, hardware, and software-related problems.
· Coordinate with Facilities teams for infrastructure-related issues, including power, furniture, and room setup concerns.

· Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
· Strong communication and customer service abilities.
· Ability to support multiple meetings and events simultaneously.

The annual salary for this position is between $37,800- $59,000 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and is subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
