Job Summary
Test analyst position for an experienced professional with strong hands on skills in Python and Java to design implement and optimize test automation for complex enterprise systems in a hybrid day shift environment with no travel contributing to highly reliable software delivery that supports global merchandising operations and business growth.
Responsibilities
Design comprehensive test strategies and detailed test plans using Python and Java to validate complex application features and integrations ensuring robust quality across enterprise systems and minimizing defect leakage to production.Develop scalable and maintainable automated test suites in Python and Java that integrate smoothly with continuous integration pipelines improving coverage reducing manual effort and accelerating delivery of high confidence releases.Execute functional regression integration and system tests while thoroughly documenting test evidence and outcomes providing clear traceability from requirements through defects and final sign off for day shift hybrid teams.Analyze requirement specifications and technical designs to derive precise test scenarios and data sets identifying ambiguities and risks early and collaborating with stakeholders to refine testable acceptance criteria.Investigate defects with methodical root cause analysis using logs code level insights and test data review providing concise defect reports and recommendations that help engineers resolve issues efficiently.Optimize automated and manual test cases by eliminating redundancies refining validation steps and aligning with evolving system behavior improving test cycle efficiency while preserving coverage for critical business flows.Collaborate closely with developers business analysts and operations teams in a hybrid work model to clarify expected behavior reproduce complex issues and agree on risk based testing priorities that align with release objectives.Monitor test execution metrics such as pass rates defect density and execution time preparing structured test summary reports that inform release readiness decisions and highlight areas needing additional validation.Support configuration of test environments and synthetic test data creation to mirror realistic production scenarios ensuring reliable validation of merchandising related workflows and inventory processes where applicable.Contribute to continuous improvement of testing frameworks and guidelines by proposing enhancements to automation utilities coding patterns and documentation helping the testing function scale to larger and more complex initiatives.Coordinate with hybrid teams to schedule test cycles for day shifts ensuring dependencies environment availability and data readiness are managed so test execution proceeds without avoidable delays.Review peer test cases scripts and defect reports providing constructive feedback that improves clarity maintainability and consistency with established quality standards and organizational practices.Mentor less experienced test professionals by demonstrating effective test design automation techniques in Python and Java and structured defect analysis methods strengthening overall team capability and delivery quality.
Qualifications
Possess six to ten years of focused experience in software testing with strong exposure to enterprise applications and proven ability to design thorough and efficient test suites.Demonstrate advanced practical proficiency in Python by writing clean test automation scripts utilities and reusable components that integrate with modern test frameworks and pipelines.Display solid applied skills in Java for creating stable test harnesses service level validation tools and automation frameworks that can be shared across multiple project teams.Bring hands on understanding of quality assurance concepts such as traceability risk based testing boundary coverage and defect life cycle management applied consistently on past projects.Exhibit familiarity with merchandising or retail domain processes including product setup pricing promotions and inventory flows using this knowledge to design realistic and business relevant test scenarios.Show experience working in hybrid delivery models and coordinating with distributed stakeholders using structured communication and documentation practices that sustain smooth day shift collaboration.Apply practical knowledge of continuous integration and version control tooling to trigger automated test runs review execution logs and maintain stable test branches within shared repositories.Utilize strong analytical and problem solving abilities to interpret requirements detect edge cases and convert complex business rules into clear verifiable test conditions that reduce production incidents.Maintain high standards for written and verbal communication producing precise test cases defect descriptions and summary reports that support transparent quality decisions and stakeholder confidence.Adapt quickly to new tools frameworks and business processes embracing ongoing learning to refine testing approaches and support the organization goal of delivering reliable solutions that positively impact customers and society.
