Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Senior Data Engineer with a strong background in cloud-native data engineering, Python, and PySpark to join our growing data team. The ideal candidate will have the ability to handle complex data pipeline challenges and thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. Experience with Palantir Foundry is a significant plus, but the core interview focus will be on real-world coding expertise using Python and PySpark.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, build, and optimize scalable data pipelines using PySpark and Python in AWS based environments .
- Solve complex data ingestion, transformation, and integration problems efficiently.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop end-to-end data workflows and solutions.
- Leverage Palantir Foundry for data modeling, ontology development, pipeline orchestration, and operational analytics (if experienced).
- Develop and maintain reusable code libraries and data engineering best practices.
- Participate in code reviews, performance tuning, and architectural discussions.
Technical Requirements:
- 8+ years of total software/data engineering experience.
- Strong command of Python programming for data processing, API integrations, and automation.
- Hands-on expertise with PySpark and SparkSQL for handling large-scale distributed data.
- Deep understanding of cloud-based data architecture.
- Familiarity with data lakehouse or modern data stack paradigms.
- Proficient in writing clean, production-ready code with unit tests and documentation.
- Experience with CI/CD workflows and version control (e.g., Git).
Bonus Skills:
- Palantir Foundry development experience (Ontology, Code Repositories, Pipelines, Transformations).
- Familiarity with Foundry APIs and operational use cases.
- Experience in real time stream processing will be a big plus.
Salary and Other Compensation:
Application will be accepted until July 10, 2025.
The annual salary for this position is between $100,000- $150,000 USD depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program and stock awards, based on performance and is subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
