Summary:
The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) for CT&I will serve as a strategic financial leader, partnering closely with the Technology Services CFO and senior leaders across Service Lines and Operations to shape and execute the company’s financial strategy. Reporting directly to the Technology Services CFO, the CFO will play a critical role in guiding the financial direction of the CIS business.
This role encompasses full ownership of corporate and consolidated financial planning and analysis (FP&A) for the CT&I portfolio. The CFO will lead strategic planning, financial reporting, and performance management, while also driving long-range forecasting, budgeting, and deal structuring. A key focus will be on enabling data-driven decision-making and fostering financial discipline across the organization.
A key differentiator for this role is a strong background in infrastructure services. The ideal candidate will bring a nuanced understanding of the financial dynamics and cost structures unique to infrastructure delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as a strategic advisor, offering analytical insights, perspectives, and options that guide leadership decisions.
- Conduct in-depth analysis of consolidated and practice level P&L results, comparing against budget and forecast targets as well as previous outcomes.
- Oversee and coordinate all facets of budgeting, forecasting, and analysis across various functions.
- Uncover opportunities for cost reduction, focusing on reversing the trend and securing sustainable margin growth.
- Generate regular and ad hoc reports for senior leaders, ensuring they have all necessary information for strategic decision-making.
- Formulate a suite of proposed initiatives in business case format, aimed at achieving targeted results across every P&L segment (e.g., Margin Expansion, Revenue Growth, Utilization Rates, Human Capital Needs).
- Instill a sense of financial and operational ownership within the respective practices to secure long-term desired outcomes.
- Cultivate relationships within Cognizant to foster information exchange, enhancing understanding of organizational activities.
- Partner closely with the Service Line to provide financial expertise and disseminate knowledge throughout Cognizant.
- Offer executives clear insights into business growth drivers, risks, and opportunities.
- Provide business advisory services to the commercial team, supporting the entire contract lifecycle from deal pricing modeling to analyzing and enhancing the financial health of portfolio accounts.
- Act as a Strategic Business Partner, playing a crucial role in the Tech Services FP&A leadership team and aiding in the execution of transformation projects.
- Balance stakeholder interests, aligning investment considerations with overarching performance goals, and ensuring clear ROI objectives while holding stakeholders accountable for outcomes.
- Lead with integrity, fostering an inclusive environment where team members are empowered and valued, contributing to a vibrant work culture.
- Cultivate a positive and productive work environment where team members are motivated, engaged, and aligned with the organization’s goals.
Spearhead initiatives to continuously improve, automate, and scale forecasting and reporting tools/systems, enhancing team efficiency.
