Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Platform Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in monitoring and telemetry platforms with a deep understanding of observability tools and practices. This role requires hands-on experience with OpenTelemetry Prometheus and Splunk Core ITSI Observability as well as the ability to engage with vendors and communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.


Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities-

  • Technical Proficiency- Demonstrate a strong understanding of observability tools and practices with a primary focus on Splunk Core ITSI Observability along with knowledge of ThousandEyes AppDynamics OpenTelemetry and Python.
  • Data Management- Manage and interpret large volumes of telemetry data correlating multiple data sources. Perform hands-on ETL processes including extracting data via REST transforming it and using it for decision-making or feeding other platforms.
  • Problem-Solving Skills- Diagnose and resolve monitoring performance and technical issues effectively.
  • Communication Skills- Communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Research new topics and technologies understand the companys landscape propose technical solutions and introduce new capabilities with associated technical documentation such as SOPs and roadmaps.
  • Curiosity and Continuous Learning- Exhibit a strong desire to continuously learn and adapt to new technologies and methodologies.
  • Collaboration- Work closely with development operations and security teams to ensure comprehensive observability across the companys landscape.
  • Attention to Detail- Maintain meticulous attention to detail in monitoring system instrumentation meaningful alerting documentation and knowledge sharing transfer.
  • Automation Skills- Automate observability processes to improve efficiency and reduce manual intervention. Develop Ansible playbooks Terraform configurations and Python scripts.

  • Qualifications

    Proven experience as a telemetry engineer or in a similar role.

    Strong understanding of observability tools and practices.

    Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

    Ability to manage and interpret large volumes of data.

    Proficiency in automation tools and scripting languages such as Ansible Terraform and Python.

    A strong desire for continuous learning and adaptation to new technologies.


    Certifications Required

    Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA) Splunk Certified Architect Python Institute PCPP
