Senior Oracle Database Administrator

As a Senior Oracle Database Administrator, you will make an impact by crafting, implementing, and optimizing Oracle databases. Ensuring high performance, security, and availability while contributing to impactful projects and mentoring team members. You will be a valued member of our Infrastructure team and work collaboratively with our Senior Manager in our Healthcare practice.

In this role, you will

  • Build and maintain secure, high-performing Oracle database environments, ensuring compliance with company policies.
  • Improve databases and SQL performance using enhanced tuning techniques.
  • Configure and manage High Availability (HA) solutions, including Oracle RAC, RAC One Node, and Data Guard, to ensure reliability.
  • Develop and implement backup, recovery, and disaster recovery (DR) strategies with detailed documentation.
  • Monitor and solve performance issues using tools like Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM) and resolve alerts efficiently.
  • Analyze capacity needs and make recommendations to support business growth and scalability.
  • Collaborate with partners to capture requirements and manage database projects from design to production.
  • Mentor junior team members and build standardized procedures, templates, and standard processes.
  • Coordinate with development teams in improving database design and implementing PL/SQL standard processes.
  • Research new technologies and propose solutions to address niche challenges.

What you’ll need to succeed (required skills)

  • A proven track record of 8 or more years in Oracle database administration with expertise in performance tuning, High Availability solutions, and Disaster Recovery.
  • Proficiency in Oracle RAC, Data Guard, and capacity planning.
  • Expert in OEM for monitoring and diagnostics.

Based on this role’s business requirements, this is a remote position open to qualified applicants in Ontario or Nova Scotia, where our hubs are located.
