Lab Manager - Hardware

Responsibilities:
•  Manage physical NY lab space and work closely with Meta facilities teams.
•  Be the designated responsible individual for operating and using high-end metrology test equipment.
•  Work closely with engineers to perform measurements on embedded electro-mechanical prototype and production components and assemblies.
•  Perform validation measurements on production systems for correlation with vendor performance.
•  Maintain a high level of documentation for test procedures and results.
•  Failure analysis & characterization testing
•  Coordinate metrology and calibration of lab instrumentation using standard test equipment, and review results to evaluate performance
•  Assign preventative maintenance of equipment and systems.
•  Staff training

Requirements:
•  Demonstrated performance in several of the skills listed below:
o  Lab management
o  Electrical, mechanical and imaging testing
o  Assembly of precision electro-mechanical assemblies
o  Experience in documenting test procedures and validation reports
o  Experience with using precision metrology, such as CT scanners, CMMs, Tensile Testers, Optical/Laser Scanners, Oscilloscopes, etc.
o  Fast learning on operating new equipment.
o  Familiarity with software for controlling lab equipment is a plus (e.g. LabVIEW, C/C++, Python, etc.)
•  Familiarity with CAD modeling package is a plus (e.g. SolidWorks, NX, etc.)
•  Excellent documentation and report writing skills
•  Excellent cross-functional teamwork skills
•  Logical and creative thinking
•  Energy and drive to work in a startup environment
•  5+ years combined experience in lab manager or lab technician roles required, with at least 2 of those years in lab management. Associates, bachelors, or advanced degrees in Optical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physics or a related technical discipline are a plus
