DevOps Engineer- Jenkins, OpenShift, Kubernetes, AWS and Terraform
Location: Johnston, Rhode Island

Responsibilities
Execute application software build & deployments supporting applications across the Line of Business
Design, develop & maintain automation procedures/templates to assist with platform automation such as Nginx, Database Platform, OpenShift Cloud Platform and Docker containers
Support Application Development teams to understand project specific needs within DevOps core function areas and implementations, analyze requirements, and provide technical solutions for all automation needs.
Source Code Management: GIT Administration - Create & Maintain Branches, Manage Source Code Repositories, User Management, Support for Agile project management
Co-ordinate the promotion of code to test, qa, stage & production environments in support of all roadmap & emergency releases
Provide support for disaster recovery activities.
Build and deploy containerized applications and manage container platforms.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Documenting, Executing and Reporting DevOps controls.
Training and mentoring junior team resources.
Provide periodic on-call support which may include irregular hours as needed
Basic Qualifications
experience in core DevOps functional areas including source code management, build and deploy, programming, automation and scripting functions
experience with Jenkins, Kubernetes, AWS and terraform
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with Jenkins, OpenShift, terraform and AWS
Experience with Deployment using Helm
Extensive experience with more than one of these scripting languages is required - PowerShell, Ant, Shell & Python scripting for automation
Experience in NPM & Maven based builds
Experience with setting up monitoring and alerting using Datadog
Experience working with Open Shift Platform, Kubernetes architecture and design and troubleshooting issues.
Experience in addressing security vulnerabilities and applying solutions.
Building and deploying applications for JAVA and NODE in Linux environments.
Experience with deployments on AWS and Container environments
Strong understanding of Agile SDLC methodologies.
Strong source code administration experience with Bitbucket and GIT preferred
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
Salary and Other Compensation:
The annual salary for this position is between $49,001 - $123,500 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
