Job Summary

As a Cyber Security Specialist you will play a crucial role in safeguarding our organizations digital assets. With a focus on risk management and vulnerability assessment you will utilize tools like Service Now and Qualys VMDR to identify and mitigate potential threats. Your expertise will ensure the integrity and security of our systems contributing to a safer digital environment.


Responsibilities

Good experience with vulnerability management tool Qualys Guard

Identify classify and prioritize vulnerabilities

Collaborate on remediation and mitigation strategies

Monitor security alerts and incidents

Ensure compliance with security policies and standards

Minimum 3 to 5 years in vulnerability management or related field

Familiarity with additional security tools eg Microsoft Defender Okta Proofpoint is highly preferred

Experience with cloud security and automation scripting eg Python PowerShell is preferred

Security frameworks knowledge eg NIST ISO 27001

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders

Strong analytical skills to interpret vulnerability scan results and address security issues

Strong organizational and time management skills

Proactive and self-motivated with a strong sense of ownership

Conduct regular vulnerability assessments using tools like Qualys Guard

Identify classify and prioritize vulnerabilities in the organizations IT infrastructure

Maintain a comprehensive vulnerability management program

Collaborate with IT and security teams to remediate identified vulnerabilities

Develop and implement mitigation strategies to reduce risk

Track and report on the status of remediation efforts

Monitor security alerts and incidents related to vulnerabilities

Analyze and respond to security incidents in a timely manner

Maintain up-to-date knowledge of emerging threats and vulnerabilities

Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements

Develop and enforce security policies and procedures

Conduct regular audits and assessments to ensure adherence to security policies

Prepare detailed reports on vulnerability findings and remediation efforts

Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of vulnerability management activities

Provide regular updates to management on the status of the vulnerability management program


Qualifications

Strong understanding of cyber security fundamentals and best practices

Proficiency in using vulnerability management tools such as Qualys Guard

Knowledge of network security operating systems and application security

Cloud knowledge or experience in securing virtual environments

Experience in managing threats

4 t0 10 years of experience

  • Conduct thorough risk assessments to identify vulnerabilities within the organizations digital infrastructure.
  • Implement security measures to protect sensitive data from unauthorized access and breaches.
  • Utilize Service Now and Qualys VMDR to monitor and manage security incidents effectively.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and enforce security policies and procedures.
  • Provide expert guidance on best practices for maintaining a secure network environment.
  • Analyze security alerts and take appropriate actions to mitigate potential threats.
  • Develop and maintain documentation related to security protocols and incident response plans.
  • Oversee regular security audits to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Train staff on cybersecurity awareness and practices to enhance overall security posture.
  • Stay updated with the latest cybersecurity trends and technologies to proactively address emerging threats.
  • Coordinate with external partners and vendors to ensure comprehensive security solutions.
  • Lead efforts in vulnerability management and remediation to minimize risk exposure.
  • Support the organization in achieving its cybersecurity objectives and enhancing its reputation for security excellence.

  • Qualifications

  • Possess extensive experience in risk management and vulnerability assessment.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in using Service Now and Qualys VMDR for security operations.
  • Exhibit strong analytical skills to identify and address security risks effectively.
  • Have excellent communication skills to collaborate with various teams and stakeholders.
  • Show a deep understanding of cybersecurity principles and practices.
  • Hold a bachelors degree in cybersecurity information technology or a related field.
  • Display a commitment to continuous learning and professional development in cybersecurity.

  • Certifications Required

    Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) ServiceNow Certified System Administrator
