Role overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Business Analyst specialized in SWIFT Payments to join our diverse team. In this pivotal role, you will be instrumental in crafting and driving our payment processing strategies, ensuring seamless and efficient transaction flows across our platforms. As a senior-level professional, your expertise will be vital in enhancing our asset and wealth management functions, order management and trading systems. With a focus on capital markets and COTS products the candidate will apply their expertise in SWIFT remittances message formats and international payments to optimize processes. The role demands a hybrid work model with day shifts ensuring seamless integration of systems and processes. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the SWIFT network, financial payment systems, and regulatory requirements affecting payment transactions.
In this role, you will
- Analyze sophisticated business requirements related to SWIFT payments and deliver actionable insights.
- Develop and document detailed functional specifications for new payment system features and enhancements.
- Collaborate with multi-functional teams including IT, finance, and operations to ensure alignment on payment processes.
- Conduct risk assessments and develop strategies to mitigate potential payment processing issues.
- Provide ongoing support and training to end-users regarding SWIFT payment processes and tools.
What you’ll need to succeed (required skills)
- Demonstrated ability in a BSA role leading projects and designing solutions
- Experience with payment project delivery and Application and/or Architectural Development is an asset
- SWIFT Standards like MT and MX (ISO20022) is a must have
- Knowledge of SWIFT MT – MX Messages Conversion/Mapping
- Hands on Knowledge of SWIFT MT – MX Migration and Payment Controls
- Ability to read, understand and interpret XML and XSDs
- Understanding of REST APIs, different communication methods like SFTP, MQ, etc.
- Hands-on solid understanding of JSON Schemas
- Experience in technical design solutions of sophisticated requirements
- Fair understanding of Payment Controls – Limit Controls, Duplicate Checks, Maker-Checker, etc.
- Fair Exposure to Wire Payment’s landscape including Sanctions, Payment Gateway and data stores
- Payment Domain Knowledge
- Knowledge of International Remittances
- Knowledge of Sanctions, Payment Gateways and data stores for Wire Payments

Working arrangements

Based on this role’s business requirements, this is a hybrid position requiring 2-3 days a week in a Client OR Cognizant office either in Halifax NS, Calgary, AB or Montreal QC .
