Job Summary
The Sr. Functional Architect will play a pivotal role in designing and implementing cutting-edge solutions in the electronic payments and check processing domain. With a strong emphasis on integration patterns generative AI and cloud technologies the candidate will ensure seamless workflow and robust solution design. This hybrid role requires expertise in Java Camunda JSON SOAP and API management to drive innovation and efficiency in our systems.
Responsibilities
- Lead the functional architecture and design of distributed systems using Java, Spring Boot, and Microservices.
- Translate complex business requirements into scalable and modular technical solutions.
- Collaborate with business analysts, product owners, and technical teams to define system behaviour and integration patterns.
- Define and enforce architectural standards, best practices, and governance models.
- Guide development teams in implementing functional designs and ensuring alignment with architectural vision.
- Conduct impact analysis, feasibility studies, and solution assessments.
- Support pre-sales, solutioning, and proposal development with architectural insights.
- Ensure compliance with security, performance, and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather, analyze, and document business process requirements.
- Translate business needs into BPMN 2.0 models and decision logic using DMN.
- Work closely with developers, architects, and QA teams to ensure accurate implementation of workflows in Camunda 8.
- Facilitate workshops and process discovery sessions to identify automation opportunities.
- Define and maintain process documentation, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
- Support testing, validation, and deployment of BPM solutions.
- Monitor and analyze process performance using Camunda Operate and Optimize.
- Act as a liaison between business users and technical teams to ensure alignment
Qualifications
- Experience in enterprise architecture frameworks (Java, Spring Boot, Micro services, Camunda BPM/ JBPM)
- Exposure to BPM tools (e.g., Camunda, Activiti) and rules engines.
- Certifications in Java, cloud platforms, or architecture frameworks.
- Background in Agile/Scrum methodologies and tools like JIRA, Confluence, and Git
Salary and Other Compensation
Applications will be accepted until 6/30/2025.
The annual salary for this position is between $130,000 - $160,000 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
