Test Automation Lead

We are seeking a Test Automation Lead to manage and oversee the testing processes and team for our banking client. As a Test Automation Lead, you will be responsible for building and enhancing automation frameworks, collaborating with developers, and ensuring test coverage to maintain high-quality, scalable, and efficient software solutions. In addition to automation execution, the lead will oversee all automation-related responsibilities, ensuring quality and efficiency in testing processes. In this role, you will:

  • Design, implement, and execute comprehensive test strategies, test plans, and test cases to validate software functionality, performance, and scalability.
  • Develop and implement comprehensive testing strategies and plans for , ensuring alignment with project timelines and business objectives.
  • Define the test automation strategy and roadmap, aligning with business objectives and customer needs.
  • Oversee test automation framework design, development, and implementation.
  • Mentor Test automation engineers on good test automation and practices.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (developers, business analysts, and QA teams) to ensure seamless integration of automation testing.
  • Provide guidance on CI/CD integration and automation execution within the software development lifecycle.
  • Track and report automation progress, test coverage, and defect metrics, ensuring continuous improvement.
  • Provide regular updates and reports on testing progress, results, and quality metrics to senior project manager and project team.

What you’ll need to succeed (required skills):

  • Overall 10-15 years of experience in Quality Engineering and Assurance with at least 2 years in an automation lead role.
  • 6+ years of hands-on experience in UI and API automation (using Java, Selenium, Rest Assured, TestNG, Cucumber, Gradle, Rest Assured, Karate etc.)
  • Proficiency in programming languages like Java, Python, or JavaScript for automation scripting.
  • Must have hands-on experience working with API testing and automation using tools like Postman, RestAssured, or Karate.
  • Setup automation framework.
  • Working experience on CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps) and version control tools (Git).
  • Experience working with agile teams and scrum methodologies.
  • Strong knowledge of test management tools (JIRA, TestRail, HP ALM, etc.).
  • Should have experience working in Banking domain projects.
  • Should be able to play lead role by coordinating onsite and offshore resources along with customer communications.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
