Performance Engineer

The Role:

Cognizant is looking for an experienced Performance Engineer with expertise in DB performance tuning, application optimization, and performance monitoring tools. This role demands a deep technical understanding of databases, application architectures, and performance troubleshooting in SAP or similar packaged products.

Required Qualifications:

· Minimum of 5 years of proven hands-on experience in Performance engineering with some exposure to SAP or similar packaged products/DBs

· Strong experience in DB Performance tuning and engineering.

· In-depth knowledge of performance-tuning SQL queries and stored procedures

· Experience in doing in-depth Root Cause Analysis to identify performance bottlenecks

· Proficient in one or more programming languages such as Python, Perl, ABAP, Java, and C++.

· Expertise in performance testing tools, including LoadRunner Enterprise, Apache JMeter, SoapUI, and Postman.

· Strong analytical skills, with experience in data analysis, visualization, end-to-end performance evaluation, and root cause analysis.

· Experience working with service-oriented architecture (SOA) and RESTful APIs.

· Proficient in using application performance monitoring tools, such as Dynatrace and AppDynamics.

· Skilled in using various profiling tools to efficiently identify performance bottlenecks.

Good to have Skills:

· Expertise in performance assessment and optimization of complex applications built on the SAP HANA.

· Understanding of SAP BTP components such as API Management (APIM), SAP Integration Suite, Conversational AI (CAI), Data Intelligence (SAP DI), and AWS storage services.

· Expertise in application and database performance monitoring in SAP , HANA DB cockpit, and SAP BTP cockpit.

· Strong understanding of relational databases and in-memory databases.

· Solid understanding of Algorithms and Big-O notation.

· Experience with code management using Git.

· Familiarity with Agile or Scrum software development methodologies.
