About the team

Cognizant collaborates with all major hyperscale’s and relevant software vendors in the data and AI space. This includes partnerships with industry leaders such as AWS, Microsoft, Google, Snowflake, and Databricks. Our comprehensive approach ensures that we leverage the best tools and technologies to deliver scalable, secure, and efficient solutions. Additionally, we are supported locally by our dedicated Centres of Excellence, which operate both nearshore and offshore. These centres provide specialized expertise and resources, ensuring that we can meet the unique needs of our clients and drive innovation in AI and data cost effectively.

About the role

We are looking for a meticulous and experienced DevOps Engineer to oversee the end-to-end software release lifecycle across our application portfolio. In this role you will coordinate development, QA, and operations teams to ensure smooth and timely deployment of software releases while minimizing risks and ensuring quality. The position will also include both coordinating and planned tasks as well as more practical and operational work that takes place hands-on in our IT systems, such as configuration, troubleshooting, installations and upgrades.

Key responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines to automate software build, test, and deployment processes.
  • Manage cloud infrastructure and services
  • Monitor system performance and availability and respond to incidents and outages.
  • Automate repetitive tasks to improve efficiency and reduce manual errors.
  • Collaborate with development and operations teams to streamline software delivery.
  • Support containerization and orchestration using Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure and application issues in development, staging, and production environments.
  • Implement logging and monitoring solutions to gain visibility into system health and performance.
  • Participate in on-call rotations and incident response efforts.
  • Document processes, configurations, and system architectures for knowledge sharing and continuity.

Requirements

  • Proficiency in scripting languages – such as, Python, or PowerShell for automation tasks.
  • Experience with CI/CD tools –Azure DevOps.
  • Containerization and orchestration – working with Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Cloud platform expertise – hands-on experience with Azure Cloud Platform.
  • Version control systems – strong knowledge of Git and branching strategies.
  • Configuration management – using tools like Ansible, Puppet, or Chef.
  • Build and deployment automation – creating and maintaining pipelines for reliable software delivery.
  • Incident response and troubleshooting – ability to quickly diagnose and resolve system issues.
