About the role
As the Head of Financial Controlling, the primary purpose is to provide strategic leadership and oversight for the entire Financial Controlling team. This role encompasses managing and guiding both Senior Financial Controllers and Junior Financial Controllers to ensure the effective execution of financial control processes, accurate reporting, and compliance with accounting standards.

As the Financial Controlling Team Leader, you will guide and lead the Financial Controlling team, setting goals that align with our organization's objectives. You'll create a supportive and high-performing team environment. You'll manage Senior and Junior Financial Controllers, ensuring they work well together and have opportunities to grow professionally.

You'll be responsible for making sure our month-end and year-end financial closing processes are done accurately and on time. You'll review financial statements and provide guidance to your team. You'll also ensure we follow IFRS standards, especially regarding IFRS 16, and offer your expertise to the team.
You'll lead various projects, focusing on implementing new compliance measures and integrating them smoothly into our existing processes. You'll be the go-to person for complex IFRS reporting questions, providing advice to your team and other stakeholders. Additionally, you'll help develop and maintain financial manuals, making sure they are current and meet industry standards.

Skills and experience

  • Minimum of 10+ years of progressive experience in financial controlling roles, with a strong background in accounting, economics, finance, or a related field.
  • In-depth knowledge of IFRS; expertise in IFRS 16 is highly advantageous.
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Excel and other relevant financial software.
  • Proven leadership skills with a track record of effectively managing and developing a diverse team.
  • Strategic mindset, results-driven, and proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Excellent communication skills in English, both written and spoken.
  • Service-minded approach with a focus on collaboration and teamwork.
  • 3+ years’ experience from FP&A or a consultancy background
  • Fluent in English, both written and spoken
