Global Mobility Tax Compliance Specialist

About the role

As a Global Mobility Tax Compliance Specialist you will make an impact by managing aspects of international assignments, including coordination of international assignee mobilizations; administration and implementation of international assignment policy; and coordination of international assignment compliance. You will be a valued member of the Global Assignments team and work collaboratively with global mobility.

In this role, you will:

  • Manage international assignment program and high-volume compliance programs, acting as the main point of contact for assignees.
  • Provide briefing to the assignees, line managers, and corporate function colleagues on the assignment arrangements
  • Review assignment letters, notes of meeting prepared by junior members in the team, issuing employee tracking tool and tracking compliance
  • Review compensation summaries for use by external vendors in the delivery of shadow payroll and tax return services, coordinate recurring shadow payroll and tax return compliance activities
  • Participate in wider Global Mobility program work relating to employee movements between countries

Work model:

Based on this role’s business requirements, this is a hybrid position requiring 2 days a week in our Cognizant office in Budapest, Hungary. What you need to have to be considered

  • In depth experience working in a Global Mobility Tax Compliance role
  • Understanding and appreciation about income taxes and social security rules & regulations across multiple regions and of basic payroll concepts like hypo taxes, shadow payroll and familiarity with cross-border working and associated compliance requirements
  • Excel / numeracy skills: You will be reviewing compensation summaries and calculations hence you must be comfortable and be able to use excel in your daily work.
  • Communication Skills: You will be collaborating with co-workers and management. Need to be able to listen and communicate effectively. You need to be fluent in English verbally and in writing.
  • Attitude: Can-do attitude and ability to thrive in a busy and fast-changing environment.

  • Experience working in a multi-cultural environment and flexibility to work with a team of professionals in different geographies
  • Knowledge of languages other than English
  • PowerPoint skills
  • Microsoft Word and other Microsoft office tools
  • Knowledge of Human Resources, Finance or Taxation through education or work experience
  • Previous experience of managing social security certificate of coverage processes and tracking
  • Any previous experience of dealing with employee relocations, assignments, travel etc.
