Job Summary

As the Engineering Director, you will lead the software development teams in Vilnius (part of Cognizant Digital Engineering Studio) and oversee the associated project portfolio. Your responsibilities will include ensuring that engagements meet client expectations, deliver the agreed-upon outputs, and consistently contribute to achieving the specified outcomes. Additionally, you will play a vital role in fostering growth within each client account under your management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage five to six Engineering Directors across multiple engagements, each of whom are either directly leading teams, or are providing guidance and governance to multiple Engineering Managers
  • Ensure delivery execution for each team conforms to an established, agreed-upon, and continuously maturing operating model
  • Anticipate risks and delivery issues to proactively address. Ensure clear transparent communication internally & with the client
  • Track and guide continuous improvement of digital maturity for discovery, delivery, and engineering practices
  • Work with delivery team, account team, and Go-To-Market team to identify and present ideas and proposals to client in which Cognizant could help to improve efficiency & efficacy, gain competitive advantage, or create/unlock new/additional business value
  • Provide pre-sales support for client briefings, engagement shaping, and RFP responses
  • Coach and mentor Engineering Managers/Directors to be able to engage with client leadership, Executive Communication. Be able to handle business development, ongoing relationships & handle escalated situations
  • Ensure the right talent with the right skills is available at the right time
  • Learn, adapt & comply with community best practices
  • Contribute/facilitate/encourage cross-community interactions to drive innovations, improvements and enablement opportunities

Job Requirements and Essential Skills

  • Extensive overall IT experience with very strong delivery experience in handling Diversified accounts
  • Prior experience in handling portfolios to the tune of ~$10-15M annual revenue
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, strong people management
  • Solid experience in Agile/Scrum Software Development methodologies
  • Languages: fluent English and Lithuanian

Nice To Have Skills

  • Extensive experience in project management / business unit management
  • Good understanding of Cloud, DevOps and digital transformation practices
  • Capability building and execution at scale

Qualifications

  • Bachelors in technical or business degree or equivalent

  • The salary range for this position is from 10.000 EUR to 12.000 EUR gross before taxes.*
    • *Salary offer for the candidate is determined based on the predefined salary ranges for the position and depends on the level of competence and experience of the candidate.
