SharePoint & Power Platform Engineer

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the assessment and migration of sites, documents, metadata, permissions and workflows from SG-DCS, SharePoint 2013 and other legacy environments to SharePoint Online.

  • Use migration tools such as ShareGate or Microsoft Migration Manager to run migration jobs, review results, correct errors and validate migrated content.

  • Configure and maintain SharePoint Online sites, document libraries, lists, metadata, views, navigation and permissions.

  • Build and enhance Power Apps and Power Automate workflows for straightforward business processes and productivity needs.

  • Develop or modify lightweight SharePoint components and integrations using SPFx, JavaScript or TypeScript where required.

  • Assist with discovery workshops, content inventories, migration mapping, testing, cutover preparation and post-migration support.

  • Troubleshoot migration, access, workflow and application issues, escalating complex problems when necessary.

  • Prepare clear technical documentation, test scripts, user guides and migration status updates.

  • Work directly with users to validate migrated content, gather feedback and make iterative improvements.

  • Learn and apply relevant Microsoft 365, Power Platform and development practices with guidance from more experienced team members.

Required Skills and Experience

  • 2–3 years of hands-on experience developing or supporting SharePoint, Microsoft 365 or Power Platform solutions.

  • Practical experience with SharePoint Online sites, document libraries, lists, metadata, permissions and basic administration.

  • Some hands-on exposure to SharePoint migration, including content assessment, migration execution, validation or issue remediation.

  • Experience with ShareGate, Microsoft Migration Manager or a similar migration tool is preferred; candidates with relevant migration fundamentals and a willingness to learn may also be considered.

  • Hands-on experience building or maintaining Power Apps and Power Automate workflows.

  • Basic development skills in JavaScript or TypeScript; exposure to SPFx, React, Microsoft Graph or REST APIs is useful but not mandatory across all areas.

  • Ability to troubleshoot systematically, test changes carefully and produce clear technical and user documentation.

  • Ability to work with business users and technical team members to clarify requirements and deliver practical solutions.

  • Familiarity with source control and basic development practices is helpful; deep expertise in Azure architecture, CI/CD or enterprise integration is not required.

  • A proactive, hands-on attitude, willingness to learn and ability to take guidance, own assigned work and improve through feedback.

Preferred Skills

  • Exposure to SharePoint 2013, SharePoint Server, SG-DCS or other legacy collaboration platforms.

  • Experience supporting user acceptance testing, migration cutovers or post-migration hypercare.

  • Familiarity with Microsoft Lists, Forms, Dataverse, Power BI or Microsoft 365 Copilot.

  • Basic awareness of records management, retention, access control and information governance.

  • Experience working in government, regulated or security-conscious environments.

What Success Looks Like

  • Assigned SharePoint content, sites and workflows are migrated accurately with minimal disruption and clearly documented results.

  • Migration issues are identified early, investigated systematically and resolved or escalated promptly.

  • Power Apps and Power Automate solutions are simple, reliable, maintainable and useful to business teams.

  • Users receive clear support, documentation and guidance before and after migration.

  • The engineer steadily builds deeper SharePoint and Power Platform capability through hands-on delivery, feedback and continuous learning.
