About the role:
Responsible for translating and localizing subtitles for television shows, films, documentaries, and other media content from English to Spanish. Ensures linguistic accuracy, cultural relevance, and technical compliance with subtitle standards.
Your responsibilities:
Translating spoken English dialogue into Spanish while preserving tone, context, and cultural nuances.
Editing subtitles and aligning them with audio cues and visual pacing, ensuring readability and timing accuracy.
Proofreading and reviewing subtitles for grammar, spelling, and consistency.
Collaborating with quality assurance teams to implement feedback.
Ensuring all deliverables meet platform-specific technical and linguistic guidelines.
Skills & Experience:
- Spanish Proficiency: Native or near-native (C1/C2); strong grasp of regional dialects and cultural references.
- English Proficiency: Strong comprehension of spoken and written English (C1).
- Experience: 1–2 years general corporate experience.
- Skills: Detail-oriented, deadline-driven, and comfortable with media content.
Preferred:
- Degree in Translation, Linguistics, Film Studies or related field.
- Experience with streaming platforms and accessibility standards.
Familiarity with tools like Subtitle Edit, Phrase AI, or EZTitles.
