Cognizant’s Application Delivery practice is seeking a highly qualified Lead Devops / Site Reliability Engineer with experience developing and building high-performing, scalable, enterprise applications. You will be part of a digital software team that works on high-demand applications. Our engineers have a passion for high-quality, reliable and maintainable code. Roles and Responsibilities:
System Design
• Deep understanding of AWS services (EC2, ECS/EKS, Lambda, VPC, IAM, RDS, S3, CloudWatch, etc.).
• What’s three tier architecture, etc.
Monitoring & Alerting
• Monitor application performance and system health using tools such as Datadog/AWS Cloud Watch, Splunk, Kibana, etc.
• Configure and maintain dashboards, alerts, and log forwarders for cloud resources.
• Perform FinOps validation to identify and optimize underutilized resources.
Incident Management & Linux System Troubleshooting – must have
• Respond to alerts and troubleshoot application issues in UAT and Production environments.
• Conduct root cause analysis for incidents and implement corrective actions.
• Maintain detailed runbooks, troubleshooting guides, and operational documentation.
Release & Change Management – process oriented
• Manage build releases from Gitlab master branch and deploy to UAT and Production environments.
• Plan and execute production releases, including change management ticket approvals.
• Maintain and renew SSL certificates across environments.
Security & Compliance
• Apply and maintain security patches for VMs and containers.
• Manage secrets in vaults and enforce best security practices.
• Monitor and improve security posture at the organizational level.
Automation & CI/CD – must have
• Develop and maintain automation scripts for applications and CI/CD processes.
• Create and manage custom CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Gitlab gitrunner Jenkins).
Infrastructure as Code (IaC) – must have
• Design and maintain Infrastructure as Code using tools like Terraform.
• Develop custom cloud resource templates for scalable deployments.
Must willing to be part of oncall rotation – must have

Qualifications
• Strong experience with monitoring tools (Datadog, AWS CloudWatch, Splunk, Kibana,).
• Proficiency in CI/CD tools (GitLab runner, Jenkins) and scripting languages (Python, Go, Shell, Groovy).
• Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Ansible).
• Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure), containerization (Docker/Kubernetes), and security best practices.
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Familiarity with change management processes and compliance standards.
