About the role
As a Sales & Consulting Learning Consultant, you will drive impactful capability-building across Cognizant's Sales and Consulting communities. You will be a key member of the Global Learning & Development team, partnering closely with Sales leaders, Consulting practice heads, and cross-functional stakeholders to identify performance gaps and design learning solutions that translate directly into business outcomes.
This role sits at the intersection of business performance and learning strategy. You will have the autonomy to lead needs analyses, shape learning recommendations, and collaborate with instructional design teams — all while maintaining trusted relationships with senior stakeholders. This is not a traditional Instructional Designer role; it is a strategic learning partner position that values business acumen as much as learning expertise. As a team of self-starters, you will work with real impact alongside a vibrant culture, with unmatched opportunities for growth.
In this role, you will:
• Partner with Sales and Consulting leaders to understand business challenges, capability needs, and performance expectations — translating them into targeted learning strategies.
• Conduct thorough learning needs analyses to identify skill, knowledge, and performance gaps across Sales and Consulting audiences.
• Recommend and champion learning solutions — virtual, classroom, blended, and self-paced — directly aligned to business objectives and measurable outcomes.
• Collaborate with instructional designers and learning teams to develop high-quality interventions that reflect real-world Sales and Consulting contexts.
• Create compelling presentations, facilitator guides, learning materials, and supporting resources for both leadership and learner audiences.
• Manage multiple learning projects and stakeholder groups simultaneously, maintaining clarity, momentum, and quality across all workstreams.
• Present learning strategies, progress updates, and recommendations to senior leadership with confidence and clarity.

What you must have to be considered
We welcome candidates from Sales, Consulting, Business Development, Client Success, Account Management, Sales Enablement, L&D, Organizational Development, and Talent Development backgrounds. Candidates with strong Sales or Consulting exposure who are transitioning into Learning & Development are highly encouraged to apply.
• Strong understanding of Sales processes, Consulting methodologies, or client-facing business environments — with firsthand experience engaging commercial or consulting audiences.
• Excellent stakeholder management and business partnering skills, with a proven ability to build trust and credibility with senior leaders.
• Strong communication, presentation, and facilitation capabilities — comfortable influencing and presenting to senior business stakeholders.
• Demonstrated ability to work in a matrixed organization, manage competing priorities, and deliver across multiple stakeholder groups.
• Experience translating business needs and performance challenges into practical development solutions.
• A strong sense of ownership, desire to create meaningful outcomes, and passion for work that serves customers, communities, and broader business goals.

These are preferred qualifications — not requirements. If you bring most of what's listed above, we encourage you to apply regardless of your L&D experience level.
• Experience in Learning & Development, Instructional Design, or a formal Sales Enablement function.
• Familiarity with Adult Learning Principles and their application to corporate capability development.
• Exposure to e-learning authoring tools (e.g., Articulate, Adobe Captivate) and virtual learning platforms.
• Prior involvement in Sales Enablement program design or Consulting Capability Development initiatives.
• Experience working in large, global, matrixed organizations
