Job Summary
Serve as a Snowflake Data modeler specializing in Snowflake streams Snowflake SQL and Snowpipe to design build and optimize cloud based data solutions that enable high quality analytics and reporting for global stakeholders. Collaborate in a hybrid work environment to deliver secure scalable and reliable data pipelines that support critical business decision making and societal impact through data driven insights.
Responsibilities
- Design detailed Snowflake based data models that support reliable analytics and reporting while aligning to enterprise data standards and performance expectations.
- Develop robust Snowflake SQL code that transforms raw data into curated datasets with clear structure strong data quality and efficient query performance.
- Build and configure Snowflake streams to capture incremental data changes accurately and ensure near real time data availability for downstream consumers.
- Implement and optimize Snowpipe to automate secure data ingestion from diverse sources minimizing latency and manual intervention in data loading.
- Optimize query performance by tuning Snowflake SQL clustering strategies and warehouse configurations to reduce cost and improve response times for complex workloads.
- Collaborate with data engineers analysts and product teams in a hybrid work model to translate functional requirements into scalable Snowflake based technical solutions.
- Ensure adherence to data governance security and compliance standards by applying access controls masking policies and reliable audit mechanisms within Snowflake environments.
- Troubleshoot production issues in Snowflake streams Snowpipe and SQL workloads by performing root cause analysis and implementing preventive improvements.
- Document solution designs data flow diagrams and operational runbooks clearly so that teams can maintain extend and reuse Snowflake components effectively.
- Contribute to continuous improvement by evaluating new Snowflake features suggesting enhancements to data pipelines and sharing best practices with peers.
- Support test planning and execution by creating relevant test scenarios validating data accuracy and ensuring that performance and reliability targets are met.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand analytical needs and provide Snowflake driven solutions that improve decision making and create positive impact on customers and communities.
- Mentor junior team members on Snowflake development practices by providing constructive feedback on code design choices and problem solving approaches.
Qualifications
- Bring between five and nine years of professional experience in data engineering or development roles with substantial focus on cloud data platforms and analytics delivery.
- Demonstrate strong hands on proficiency in Snowflake SQL including complex joins window functions stored procedures and query optimization techniques.
- Show proven experience designing and managing Snowflake streams to handle change data capture scenarios and maintain consistent reliable incremental data processing.
- Exhibit practical expertise implementing Snowpipe for automated data ingestion from file based and streaming sources while ensuring robust error handling and monitoring.
- Apply solid understanding of data warehousing concepts such as dimensional modeling partitioning strategies and slowly changing dimensions within Snowflake.
- Use experience in working within hybrid teams to collaborate effectively across onsite and remote colleagues while maintaining clear communication and shared ownership of outcomes.
- Display strong problem solving and debugging skills to analyze data inconsistencies performance bottlenecks and integration issues across multiple Snowflake environments.
- Communicate technical concepts clearly to both technical and non technical partners enabling informed decisions about data solutions priorities and trade offs.
Certifications Required
SnowPro Core Certification or equivalent Snowflake focused cloud data certification is preferred for this senior developer role.
