Job Summary
Drive the design and delivery of secure and scalable microservice based applications for retail banking using Core Java Spring Boot SQL JavaScript and AWS in a hybrid work model collaborating with cross functional teams to enhance digital customer journeys improve system reliability and support strategic business growth in a modern day shift environment.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement robust microservice based retail banking applications using Core Java and Spring Boot to deliver secure and efficient digital services that support critical customer transactions and account management workflows.
- Develop clean reusable and well structured Java and JavaScript code that follows established coding standards to improve maintainability reduce defects and streamline future enhancements for banking channels.
- Architect and optimize RESTful service interactions between microservices to ensure reliable data flow low latency and high throughput across core retail banking features such as payments and customer profile management.
- Create efficient SQL queries and database schemas that support complex retail banking operations while ensuring data integrity optimal indexing and scalable performance under high transaction volumes.
- Configure and use AWS services such as compute storage messaging and monitoring to deploy run and observe microservice based workloads that power retail banking applications in a secure cloud environment.
- Enhance application resiliency by implementing best practices for error handling logging and observability so that production issues in retail banking journeys can be quickly detected diagnosed and resolved.
- Collaborate with product owners business analysts and quality engineers in a hybrid work setup to refine user stories clarify banking domain scenarios and deliver features that align with customer expectations and regulatory needs.
- Apply secure coding practices and data protection guidelines to safeguard sensitive retail banking information including customer identities balances and transaction histories across all application layers.
- Conduct thorough unit testing integration testing and component level validations using appropriate Java and JavaScript testing frameworks to ensure high quality releases and reduce production incidents.
- Participate in code reviews by providing constructive feedback and sharing best practices for microservices architecture Core Java Spring Boot SQL and AWS adoption to raise overall team engineering standards.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex production issues by analyzing logs metrics and traces in the AWS ecosystem to minimize downtime and protect critical retail banking services used by customers and internal users.
- Optimize application performance by profiling Java services tuning database access patterns and refining caching strategies so that retail banking journeys remain responsive during peak usage periods.
- Contribute to continuous integration and continuous delivery pipelines by defining build test and deployment steps that improve release reliability and support frequent safe updates to banking microservices.
- Document technical designs service contracts and deployment runbooks in clear and accessible form so that other engineers and support teams can efficiently understand maintain and operate the retail banking solutions.
- Coordinate effectively in a day shift hybrid work model using collaboration tools and planned touchpoints to align on priorities manage dependencies and maintain smooth delivery across onsite and remote contributors.
Qualifications
- Demonstrate extensive hands on experience of at least eight years in Core Java and Java based application development with a strong record of delivering production grade services for transactional systems.
- Show deep practical proficiency in designing building and maintaining microservices using Spring Boot including configuration management dependency injection and integration with external systems.
- Exhibit strong knowledge of SQL relational database design and query optimization with the ability to craft efficient data models that support complex retail banking use cases.
- Display proven expertise in working with AWS services for application hosting storage networking and monitoring ensuring secure reliable and scalable runtime environments.
- Apply solid skills in JavaScript for building or integrating responsive user interfaces and client side logic that connect seamlessly with banking microservices.
- Bring substantial domain experience in retail banking including familiarity with customer onboarding payments deposits loans compliance constraints and typical system flows that support these products.
- Utilize effective communication collaboration and problem solving abilities to work with cross functional stakeholders in a hybrid environment and translate business requirements into high quality technical solutions.
Certifications Required
AWS Certified Developer Associate or AWS Certified Solutions Architect Associate preferred and any recognized Java or Spring professional certification.
