Lead Developer
About the role
As a Lead Developer, you will make an impact by designing, developing, and supporting scalable full stack applications using modern front-end, back-end, cloud, API, and DevOps technologies. You will be a valued member of the technology team and work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to deliver high-quality software solutions in a fast-paced environment.
In this role, you will:
Demonstrate a strong understanding of software development principles and coding best practices.
Design, develop, and support full stack applications using modern front-end and back-end technologies.
Build and maintain scalable APIs and microservices aligned with business and technical requirements.
Work with Angular, TypeScript, Spring Boot, Apigee, AWS, Kubernetes, Git, Maven, Jenkins, Harness, and CI/CD pipelines.
Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to help drive technical direction and decision-making.
Recommend the best technical approaches based on project needs, experience, and industry best practices.
Drive cross-collaboration and execution of projects across multiple teams.
Coach and mentor junior developers while supporting continuous improvement across the team.
Work Model and Location
This is a remote position. The exact job location is Mississauga, ON. Client interviews may be required before candidate finalization.

What you need to have to be considered
5+ years of professional software development experience.
Strong full stack development experience.
Hands-on experience with Angular and TypeScript development.
Experience with Spring Boot and microservices development.
Experience designing, building, and supporting APIs.
Working knowledge of DevOps and cloud technologies, including Apigee, AWS, Rancher or Kubernetes, Git, Maven, Jenkins, Harness, and CI/CD pipelines.
Strong communication, people interaction, and self-leadership skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment.
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to think creatively.
These will help you stand out
Experience collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to drive technical decisions.
Experience supporting scalable enterprise applications and microservices.
Ability to recommend technical solutions based on project needs and industry best practices.
Experience mentoring junior developers and supporting continuous improvement across engineering teams.

Salary and Other Compensation
The annual salary for this position is between $64K – $90K depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
