Job Summary
Seeking a software engineer with four to five years of experience to design build and enhance enterprise applications using Oracle Core Java J2EE Spring Boot Spring Core Node JS REST web services PL SQL and microservices within a hybrid work model focused on day shifts while contributing to secure scalable and resilient solutions that support life and annuities insurance operations and deliver measurable value to clients and society.
Responsibilities
- Design scalable microservices based applications that integrate Core Java J2EE Spring Boot Spring Core and REST web services to support complex enterprise workflows for insurance clients and internal stakeholders.
- Develop high quality reusable and modular code in Core Java and Node JS that adheres to established coding standards and supports long term maintainability and performance optimization.
- Implement secure robust and well structured REST web service interfaces that enable seamless communication between front end channels back end systems and third party platforms.
- Create and optimize PL SQL packages procedures and queries in Oracle databases to ensure efficient data access accurate transaction processing and reliable reporting capabilities.
- Collaborate with business analysts and solution designers to translate functional requirements into detailed technical designs and implementation tasks that align with organizational architecture guidelines.
- Perform unit integration and regression testing for each service component using structured test cases and automation tools to ensure high reliability and minimize production defects.
- Troubleshoot and resolve application defects performance issues and integration problems by analyzing logs metrics and database traces and then applying targeted fixes.
- Contribute to code reviews by providing constructive feedback identifying potential defects and ensuring adherence to best practices for security performance and readability.
- Coordinate with DevOps and environment teams to support build deployment and configuration activities across development quality assurance and production environments in a hybrid work model.
- Document design decisions interface contracts configuration parameters and operational runbooks to support smooth handover and ongoing maintenance by peers and support teams.
- Engage with product owners and subject matter experts to understand life and annuities insurance processes where applicable and reflect this understanding in accurate system behavior and rule implementation.
- Participate in agile ceremonies including planning refinement and retrospectives to estimate tasks communicate progress and continuously improve team delivery practices.
- Apply secure coding practices and data protection principles to safeguard customer information and ensure compliance with internal controls and relevant industry standards.
Qualifications
- Display solid proficiency in Core Java J2EE Spring Boot Spring Core microservices REST web services Oracle and PL SQL gained through four to five years of hands on software engineering experience in enterprise environments.
- Demonstrate practical experience with Node JS for building backend services or utilities that complement Java based microservices and enhance overall solution flexibility.
- Exhibit strong understanding of relational database concepts including schema design indexing query optimization and transaction management within Oracle platforms.
- Show familiarity with life and annuities insurance concepts such as policy administration billing and claims processing which supports accurate implementation of domain logic when relevant.
- Apply knowledge of agile methods continuous integration and version control tools to manage code changes efficiently and support frequent reliable releases in a hybrid work setting.
- Maintain effective communication and collaboration skills to work closely with cross functional teams including analysts testers architects and operations staff while operating primarily in day shifts.
Certifications Required
Preferred certifications include Oracle Certified Professional Java Programmer and Spring Certified Professional or equivalent industry recognized credentials.
