DevOps & Automation Engineer – GE ADMS Series 6
Oslo, Norway - Full-time
About the Role
As a DevOps & Automation Engineer, you will make an impact by designing, building, and maintaining the CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure automation capabilities that underpin one of the most technically ambitious GE ADMS Series 6 programs in Europe. You will be a valued member of our Energy & Utilities Technology team and work collaboratively with software engineers, GE ADMS architects, utility stakeholders, and cloud infrastructure specialists to accelerate delivery speed, raise quality standards, and build a resilient automation backbone for critical grid operations technology.
Whether you're an experienced DevOps engineer ready to take ownership of end-to-end pipeline architecture, or an earlier-career professional with approximately two years of solid hands-on experience, we want to hear from you. This program spans live GE ADMS Series 6 implementations, platform upgrades, and a large-scale multi-company data migration — making it a genuinely impactful place to grow your career in the energy technology space.
In this role, you will:
• Design, implement, and continuously maintain robust Jenkins pipelines for continuous integration and delivery across the GE ADMS Series 6 program.
• Automate build, test, and deployment processes to increase release frequency, reduce manual effort, and improve overall delivery quality.
• Use Terraform to provision and manage cloud infrastructure across AWS, Azure, and GCP — ensuring consistency, scalability, and infrastructure-as-code best practices.
• Implement and maintain Ansible playbooks for server provisioning, application configuration management, and environment standardization.
• Develop Python scripts and custom automation tooling to streamline operational and deployment tasks across the program.
• Manage artifact repositories and actively support release management processes, including versioning, deployment tracking, and rollback strategies.
• Administer GitHub repositories — including pull request workflows, branching strategies, and code integration processes — ensuring clean, governed delivery pipelines.
• Collaborate with utility stakeholders, ADMS engineers, and cross-functional teams to translate operational requirements into automated, scalable solutions.
• Coordinate with network and cybersecurity teams to ensure secure infrastructure connectivity and compliance with relevant standards.
Work Model
We believe hybrid work is the way forward as we strive to provide flexibility wherever possible. Based on this role's business requirements, this is a hybrid position. Regardless of your working arrangement, we are here to support a healthy work-life balance through our various wellbeing programs.
The working arrangements for this role are accurate as of the date of posting. This may change based on the project you're engaged in, as well as business and client requirements. Rest assured; we will always be clear about role expectations.
What You Must Have to Be Considered
• 3+ years of experience in DevOps, software engineering, infrastructure automation, or a related field — candidates with approximately 2 years of highly relevant experience are also encouraged to apply.
• Proven, hands-on experience designing and maintaining Jenkins CI/CD pipelines, including pipeline-as-code practices.
• Practical proficiency with Terraform for cloud infrastructure provisioning and management across one or more of AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Working experience with Ansible for configuration management, server provisioning, and application automation.
• Strong Python scripting skills applied to automation, tooling development, or deployment workflow optimization.
• Solid understanding of GitHub workflows, branching strategies, pull request management, and collaborative code integration practices.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work effectively in hybrid, distributed team environments.
These Will Help You Stand Out
• Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
• Applied knowledge of DevOps security best practices, including secrets management, pipeline hardening, and infrastructure compliance scanning.
• Familiarity with additional configuration management tools such as Chef.
• Exposure to microservices architecture and its operational implications for CI/CD and infrastructure management.
• Experience working in Agile delivery environments, including sprint-based workflows, backlog management, and cross-functional collaboration.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
• Any understanding of GE ADMS systems and architecture is an advantage — though not a requirement, your curiosity about the energy sector is very much welcome.
• Background in utilities, energy management, smart grid technologies, or critical infrastructure environments.
We're excited to meet people who share our mission and can make an impact in a variety of ways. Don't hesitate to apply, even if you only meet the minimum requirements listed. Think about your transferable experiences and unique skills that make you stand out as someone who can bring new and exciting things to this role.
