Job summary
GeoSpatial Engineer MAP role focuses on securing and optimizing endpoint environments that support geospatial data platforms within a multinational organization. The engineer will design implement and operate advanced Microsoft Defender ATP and endpoint security solutions in a hybrid work model ensuring robust protection for sensitive spatial data and business critical systems while collaborating with cross functional teams in a day shift role.
Responsibilities
Design comprehensive endpoint security architectures that safeguard geospatial platforms and data assets by applying deep expertise in Microsoft Defender ATP and aligned endpoint protection capabilitiesImplement robust endpoint security configurations across mapping workstations servers and field devices to ensure stable performance for geospatial applications and spatial data processing workflowsMonitor endpoint environments proactively using Microsoft Defender ATP to identify anomalies malware and suspicious user activity that could compromise geospatial systems or sensitive location dataCoordinate incident response activities for endpoint security events by investigating alerts triaging risks and applying remediation steps that minimize disruption to map production and spatial analysis operationsOptimize Microsoft Defender ATP policies and rules by reviewing telemetry and security trends ensuring that protection levels remain strong while enabling efficient use of geospatial tools and software stacksDevelop and maintain operational runbooks and standard operating procedures for endpoint security operations that clearly describe detection response and recovery steps tailored to geospatial engineering contextsCollaborate with infrastructure network and geospatial application teams to align endpoint security controls with system performance requirements licensing constraints and data governance standards across the organizationConduct periodic security posture assessments of endpoint fleets used for mapping analytics and data visualization and recommend enhancements that improve resilience against evolving cyber threatsProvide guidance to project teams on secure deployment practices for new geospatial solutions including endpoint hardening secure configuration baselines and integration with Microsoft Defender ATP capabilitiesPerform root cause analysis for recurring endpoint security issues by reviewing historical events configuration changes and user behavior to define sustainable corrective actions for geospatial environmentsCreate clear documentation and user facing guidance that explains secure usage of endpoints geospatial tools and data access mechanisms thereby supporting safer day to day operations for colleaguesCoordinate with compliance and risk stakeholders to ensure endpoint security operations remain aligned with regulatory requirements privacy expectations and internal security policies related to spatial informationDrive continuous improvement initiatives that refine endpoint monitoring automation reporting and threat detection so that geospatial engineering outcomes remain dependable and support broader organizational objectives
Qualifications
Demonstrate strong hands on experience with Microsoft Defender ATP including configuration policy management threat analytics and investigation capabilities gained over at least five years in endpoint security rolesExhibit proven expertise in endpoint implementation covering deployment planning configuration baselines agent rollout and integration with existing infrastructure components in medium to large enterprise settingsShow solid experience in endpoint operation through routine monitoring incident handling health checks and lifecycle management activities that maintain reliable secure environments for technical user communitiesApply sound understanding of operating systems commonly used for geospatial workstations and servers alongside familiarity with geospatial data workflows so endpoint controls support mapping and analysis performanceUtilize effective communication and collaboration skills to work with security operations infrastructure and geospatial engineering teams ensuring that endpoint security strategies are understood and executed consistentlyDemonstrate practical knowledge of security frameworks risk management concepts and basic compliance principles enabling appropriate prioritization of endpoint threats that may impact spatial data integrityDisplay strong analytical and problem solving abilities to interpret complex endpoint telemetry identify patterns in security events and recommend clear actions that support secure geospatial engineering practices
