Job Summary
Sr Developer with five to seven years of experience will design develop and optimize Python based applications supporting core finance and accounting operations in a multinational environment. The role focuses on building reliable systems for financial data processing reporting accuracy and compliance while collaborating with finance stakeholders on site in a work from office day shift model.
Responsibilities
- Design scalable Python applications that process finance and accounting data with high accuracy and reliability to support critical business reporting needs.
- Develop robust modules for general ledger processing accounts payable accounts receivable and financial reconciliations ensuring timely and consistent transaction handling.
- Implement secure data access patterns and validation rules within Python services to protect sensitive financial information and maintain regulatory compliance standards.
- Optimize existing finance related codebases by refactoring Python components improving performance stability and maintainability across production environments.
- Collaborate closely with finance and accounting teams to translate complex domain requirements into clear technical designs that align with organizational goals.
- Create automated workflows and scripts that streamline recurring accounting activities such as period end close reconciliations and financial statement generation.
- Integrate Python applications with enterprise finance systems and databases ensuring reliable data exchange and minimal disruption to daily operations.
- Develop detailed unit integration and regression tests for finance modules to ensure consistent behavior and reduce defects impacting financial results.
- Document technical designs data flows and operational procedures for finance applications so teams can easily understand maintain and extend solutions.
- Investigate and resolve production issues in finance processes by analyzing Python logs data anomalies and workflow gaps to restore service quickly.
- Collaborate with cross functional peers to ensure Python solutions support audit requirements internal controls and financial risk mitigation objectives.
- Provide guidance on Python best practices for finance applications helping improve coding standards data handling approaches and deployment processes.
- Engage in continuous improvement by monitoring finance system metrics identifying bottlenecks and proposing enhancements that increase business value.
Qualifications
- Demonstrate strong proficiency in Python including experience building data centric applications that support finance and accounting activities.
- Apply in depth knowledge of finance and accounting concepts such as ledgers reconciliations journal entries and financial reporting when designing solutions.
- Show proven experience working in corporate or shared service environments where finance systems and accounting workflows are central to operations.
- Use relational database skills to design schemas queries and data models that preserve financial integrity and support accurate reporting.
- Display familiarity with regulatory and compliance considerations relevant to financial data handling in multinational organizations.
- Bring practical experience in unit testing automation and version control for Python projects ensuring reliability in finance related deployments.
- Adapt effectively to a work from office day shift setup collaborating on site with finance stakeholders to resolve issues promptly and align priorities.
Certifications Required
Preferred certifications include Python Institute PCPP or PCAP and any recognized finance or accounting technology certification.
