Role: Sr Infrastructure Admin - VMWare Compute
Location: Remote

Senior VMware L3 Engineer (vSphere & Dell PowerFlex)
Experience: 10-12+ Years
Position Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled VMware L3 Engineer with strong expertise in VMware vSphere running on Dell PowerFlex infrastructure. The role is responsible for providing advanced operational support, troubleshooting, performance optimization, and lifecycle management for virtualized Windows server environments supporting mission-critical applications.
Key Responsibilities
• Provide L3 support for VMware vSphere, ESXi, and vCenter environments hosted on Dell PowerFlex.
• Manage VMware clusters, HA, DRS, vMotion, Storage vMotion, and host lifecycle management.
• Administer and support Dell PowerFlex compute and storage infrastructure, ensuring optimal performance and availability.
• Troubleshoot complex virtualization, storage, networking, and Windows Server issues.
• Perform VMware and PowerFlex upgrades, patching, capacity planning, and health checks.
• Support Windows Server 2016/2019/2022, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and Group Policy.
• Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) for critical incidents and implement permanent fixes.
• Collaborate with Storage, Network, Security, and Cloud teams on infrastructure projects and operational improvements.
• Develop automation scripts using PowerShell and maintain operational documentation.
• Administer VMware vSphere environments, including ESXi hosts, vCenter, virtual machines, clustering, vMotion, HA, and DRS.
• Manage Windows server infrastructure, enterprise applications, core network services, and end-user computing platforms.
• Implement patching, security remediation, and configuration management.
• Design and support highly available infrastructure using failover clustering, replication, log shipping, and mirroring technologies.
• Perform capacity planning, performance optimization, infrastructure monitoring, and proactive maintenance to meet availability and SLA commitments.
• Provide 24x7 production support and manage incidents, problems, changes, requests, and root-cause resolution through ITSM processes.
• Collaborate with clients and technical teams on infrastructure transitions, application support, documentation, and continuous service improvement.
Compensation: We are offering between $90,000 – $115,000. Applications will be accepted until Oct 2, 2026.Cognizant will only consider applicants for this position who are legally authorized to work in Canada without requiring employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future.
