Job Summary
This role is for a software engineer with two to four years of experience focused on core java and JDBC development in the automotive industry domain. The engineer will design build and optimize robust applications for in office day shift work contributing to reliable automotive software solutions that enhance safety efficiency and customer satisfaction across global markets.
Responsibilities
- Design robust and maintainable core java components that support critical automotive applications and ensure consistent performance across various deployment environments.
- Develop efficient JDBC based data access layers that enable reliable interactions with relational databases while meeting strict latency and throughput targets for automotive solutions.
- Implement clean modular code using core java best practices to improve readability testability and long term maintainability of complex automotive software systems.
- Collaborate closely with automotive domain experts to translate functional and nonfunctional requirements into detailed technical designs focused on safety and reliability.
- Analyze existing java and JDBC components to identify performance bottlenecks and implement targeted optimizations that enhance responsiveness and scalability.
- Conduct unit integration and regression testing of java modules to ensure stable behavior and high quality releases that align with automotive industry expectations.
- Participate in code reviews by providing constructive feedback on core java and JDBC implementations to maintain coding standards and reduce defects.
- Document technical designs data models and integration flows in clear language to support future enhancements and knowledge sharing across engineering teams.
- Troubleshoot production issues in java based automotive applications by performing root cause analysis and implementing durable corrective actions.
- Coordinate with cross functional teams such as QA operations and product management to ensure smooth delivery of automotive software features from design to deployment.
- Apply secure coding practices in core java and JDBC implementations to protect sensitive automotive data and comply with regulatory expectations.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by suggesting enhancements to development workflows tooling automation and coding guidelines.
- Stay current with core java and database technology trends that are relevant to automotive systems and propose practical innovations that bring measurable value.
Qualifications
- Possess professional experience of two to four years working on core java based applications with responsibility for design development and maintenance activities.
- Demonstrate strong proficiency in JDBC including writing optimized queries managing connections and handling transactions in high reliability environments.
- Bring hands on exposure to automotive industry systems such as infotainment telematics diagnostics or embedded management platforms.
- Understand software engineering fundamentals including object oriented design patterns data structures and algorithmic thinking applied in real projects.
- Exhibit familiarity with version control tools build automation and issue tracking platforms used in modern software development lifecycles.
- Show ability to collaborate effectively in office based team settings during day shifts while managing priorities and deadlines with minimal supervision.
- Display clear communication skills when interacting with technical and nontechnical stakeholders to explain designs tradeoffs and implementation decisions.
Certifications Required
Oracle Certified Professional Java Programmer or equivalent core java certification preferred.
