Job Summary
This hybrid role is for a security engineer with five to seven years of experience focused on enterprise firewall operation and implementation across cloud and on premises environments. The role safeguards critical services through proactive policy design reliable change execution and rapid incident response across Azure and AWS platforms.
Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain enterprise firewall platforms to ensure secure and reliable network connectivity that aligns with organizational security standards and regulatory expectations.
- Implement firewall rule changes by translating business requirements into precise security policies that minimize risk while supporting critical applications and services.
- Monitor firewall logs and security events on a daily basis to identify suspicious activities early and initiate timely containment actions that reduce business impact.
- Configure and fine tune Azure firewall policies to protect cloud workloads by applying consistent access controls and inspection rules that support secure digital services.
- Administer AWS firewall manager policies to enforce centralized security baselines that keep multi account environments resilient against evolving threats.
- Manage checkpoint firewall configurations by applying structured policy updates that maintain strong perimeter security and stable network performance.
- Conduct regular firewall policy reviews to remove outdated rules optimize access and improve overall security posture while preserving required connectivity.
- Coordinate with application and infrastructure teams to validate firewall changes through careful testing that prevents outages and ensures successful deployments in the hybrid work model.
- Document firewall architectures change procedures and troubleshooting steps in a clear and reusable format that supports knowledge sharing across the security function.
- Perform root cause analysis for firewall related incidents to identify process or configuration gaps and define corrective actions that prevent recurrence.
- Collaborate with cloud platform teams to integrate firewall controls with Azure and AWS native services and to support secure adoption of new digital capabilities.
- Use security monitoring tools and dashboards to track firewall health performance and policy compliance so that issues are detected and addressed before they affect users.
- Support audit and compliance activities by providing evidence of firewall configurations change records and security controls that demonstrate adherence to company policies.
Qualifications
- possess five to seven years of hands on experience in firewall operation and implementation across enterprise and cloud environments with a strong focus on stability and risk reduction.
- demonstrate practical expertise in Azure firewall configuration including policies rule collections and integration with other Azure security capabilities.
- exhibit solid experience with AWS firewall manager by designing and enforcing centralized policies that protect distributed accounts and workloads.
- show proven proficiency with checkpoint firewall platforms including policy management object creation and troubleshooting of complex access issues.
- bring a strong understanding of network security fundamentals such as routing nat segmentation and packet inspection as applied to firewall design.
- display familiarity with security operations practices including incident handling log analysis and continuous improvement of network defense.
- present effective communication and collaboration skills to work with cross functional teams in a hybrid work model without requiring travel.
