About the role
As a Senior Healthcare Project Manager / Scrum Master, you will make an impact by leading complex healthcare platform implementation and upgrade initiatives that support critical payer operations. You will be a valued member of our Healthcare Platform Consulting team and work collaboratively with client stakeholders, executive leaders, product teams, development teams, and onshore/offshore delivery partners.
This is an opportunity for an experienced delivery leader who enjoys driving large-scale transformation, solving complex business challenges, and helping teams deliver meaningful outcomes in healthcare technology.
In this role, you will:
- Lead large, complex healthcare platform implementation and upgrade projects, including initiatives involving the TriZetto product suite.
- Own project scope, schedule, financials, risks, dependencies, and delivery outcomes from initiation through completion.
- Develop and manage detailed project plans while ensuring milestones, deliverables, governance, and quality standards are met.
- Drive stakeholder engagement and communication across client teams, internal teams, and executive leadership.
- Lead cross-functional onshore and offshore teams, including development, product, business, and ancillary services teams.
- Facilitate Agile ceremonies, support Scrum practices, and help teams improve Agile maturity and delivery performance.
- Proactively identify and resolve risks, issues, conflicts, and impediments to keep projects moving forward.
- Support client satisfaction through strong relationship management, transparent communication, and consistent delivery execution.

Travel: Up to 80% based on client requirements.
What you need to have to be considered
- 7+ years of project management experience, preferably within the healthcare industry.
- Proven experience leading high-complexity, high-visibility implementation or upgrade projects.
- Strong knowledge of Agile, Scrum, Waterfall, or hybrid delivery methodologies.
- Experience managing project scope, schedules, financials, risks, dependencies, and delivery performance.
- Experience using MS Project, Microsoft Office, and Agile delivery management tools.
- Strong communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills, including experience engaging executive-level stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to lead, mentor, and motivate cross-functional teams across onshore and offshore delivery models.
- Bachelor’s degree in Project Management or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
These will help you stand out
- Experience leading projects involving TriZetto, Facets, QNXT, or other healthcare payer platforms.
- Certified Scrum Master and SAFe certification for Scrum Master-focused roles.
- PMP certification for Project Manager-focused roles.
- Experience driving delivery governance, executive reporting, and client relationship management.
- Strong understanding of healthcare payer operations, platform implementation lifecycles, and client delivery environments.
Salary and Other Compensation:

The annual salary for this position will be in the range of $130,000 - $150,000 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
