About the role
As a Scrum Master – Data & Analytics, you will make an impact by driving agile delivery across data engineering, analytics, business intelligence, and data science initiatives. You will be a valued member of the Data team and work collaboratively with Data Product Owners, data engineers, analytics engineers, data scientists, BI developers, business stakeholders, and platform teams to deliver high-quality data products and solutions.
In this role, you will:
- Facilitate Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, backlog refinement, sprint reviews, and retrospectives for one or more data-focused teams.
- Partner with Data Product Owners to maintain and prioritize a healthy backlog of data pipelines, analytics initiatives, infrastructure enhancements, and platform improvements.
- Identify, manage, and remove delivery impediments while coordinating dependencies across technology, business, and platform teams.
- Monitor sprint and team performance metrics, including velocity, cycle time, burndown, and incident trends, and provide actionable insights to stakeholders.
- Coach teams on Agile best practice while fostering a collaborative, transparent, and psychologically safe environment that supports continuous improvement.

What you need to have to be considered
- 3+ years of experience serving as a Scrum Master, Agile Coach, or similar Agile leadership role within technical teams.
- Strong knowledge of Scrum, Kanban, and hybrid Agile delivery frameworks.
- Experience supporting data-centric teams and familiarity with data concepts such as ETL/ELT processes, data pipelines, data quality, analytics, and business intelligence workflows.
- Proven ability to facilitate discussions, resolve conflicts, remove impediments, and drive alignment across cross-functional stakeholders.
- Hands-on experience with Agile delivery tools such as Jira, Azure DevOps, or similar platforms.
- Strong communication, stakeholder management, and organizational skills.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and professional experience.
These will help you stand out
- Certified Scrum Master (CSM), Professional Scrum Master (PSM), SAFe Agilist, or similar Agile certifications.
- Experience working in large-scale Agile environments such as SAFe or LeSS.
- Familiarity with modern data platforms and tools, including dbt, Airflow, Snowflake, Databricks, Looker, Tableau, or Power BI.
- Experience supporting release planning, data quality monitoring, SLA management, and governance processes.
- Knowledge of data engineering delivery challenges, including schema management, upstream dependencies, and data platform operations.

Salary and Other Compensation:

The annual salary for this position is between $100,000 - $115,000 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
