- Hands on experience with Kubernetes and Docker.
- Strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines.
- Knowledge of scripting languages (Python Bash).
- Familiarity with microservices APIs and cloud native architectures.
Job Description: GCP DevOps Engineer(SA):
A GCP DevOps Engineer is responsible for designing implementing and maintaining cloud infrastructure and CI/CD pipelines on Google Cloud Platform (GCP). The role blends software engineering cloud architecture automation and operations to ensure scalable secure and reliable systems.
Role Overview
The GCP DevOps Engineer will work closely with development QA and operations teams to automate workflows optimize cloud usage and ensure smooth deployment of applications. The engineer will leverage GCP services infrastructure-as-code and DevOps best practices to support high availability cost efficient and secure cloud environments.
Key Responsibilities
1. Cloud Infrastructure Management
- Design deploy and manage scalable infrastructure on Google Cloud Platform (Compute Engine GKE Cloud Run Cloud Functions VPC Load Balancers).
- Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform Deployment Manager or similar tools.
- Manage networking components: VPCs subnets firewalls Cloud DNS Cloud NAT.
2. CI/CD Pipeline Development
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using tools like Cloud Build Jenkins GitHub Actions GitLab CI.
- Automate application deployments to GKE Cloud Run or VM-based environments.
- Implement automated testing quality gates and deployment strategies (blue green canary).
3. Containerization & Orchestration
- Build and optimize Docker images.
- Manage Kubernetes clusters using GKE (autoscaling node pools ingress service mesh).
- Implement monitoring logging and alerting for containerized workloads.
4. Monitoring Logging & Observability
- Configure and maintain Cloud Monitoring Cloud Logging Cloud Trace Cloud Profiler.
- Set up dashboards alerts and SLO/SLI/SLA metrics.
- Troubleshoot performance issues across distributed systems.
5. Security & Compliance
- Implement IAM roles service accounts and least privilege access.
- Manage secrets using Secret Manager or HashiCorp Vault.
- Ensure compliance with organizational and industry security standards.
6. Automation & Scripting
- Automate operational tasks using Python Bash or Go.
- Develop automated backup failover and disaster recovery processes.
- Optimize cloud resource usage and cost.
7. Collaboration & Support
- Work with developers to ensure cloud native application design.
- Provide operational support for production systems.
- Participate in on call rotations (if applicable).
Certifications Required
Must have certification in GCP and good to have certification in DevOps skills
