Role Summary:
The Mainframe Legacy Modernization Engineer will play a key role in transforming large complex mainframe applications into modern scalable and cloud ready architectures. The engineer will work across assessment reverse engineering migration refactoring and re architecture initiatives collaborating with architects business SMEs and cloud teams to modernize COBOL based systems into microservices APIs and distributed platforms. This role requires strong hands on mainframe expertise combined with modern application integration data transformation and cloud engineering skills.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Extensive hands of experience on Cobol-DB2-CICS-VSAM program.
- Strong analytical skills.
- Analyze system requirements and develop Cobol programs to meet business needs and improve operational workflows.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and best practices in mainframe technology to maintain system integrity.
- Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues to minimize downtime and maximize productivity.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate DB2 databases, enhancing data accessibility and security.
- Develop and execute test plans to validate system functionality and ensure seamless integration.
- Implement process improvements to enhance system scalability and reduce operational costs.
- Drive innovation by exploring new technologies and methodologies to enhance mainframe capabilities.
- Knowledge on Git, IDZ and windsurf is plus.
