Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Cloud SME with a focus on supporting our edge delivery and security platforms, reporting to our lead for this area.
This role will involve proactively and reactively tackling delivery and also security threats, while improving the overall capacity, performance and security posture of our Internet-facing applications.
Responsibilities:
· Design, implement, and maintain the CDN aspects of application and infrastructure services
· Implement best practices for monitoring, alerting, and logging in order to improve the observability maturity of the business. This includes demonstrating and optimize our mean time to acknowledge and resolve alerts.
· Participate in incident investigation and forensic analysis of complex application and infrastructure issues
· Collaborate with development teams to troubleshoot issues and provide production support
· Analyse emerging technologies, features and industry trends, trialing and adopting them as required including showcasing the business benefit of those initiatives
· Collaborate with Security SMEs and other senior application architecture stakeholder to implement response, mitigation and prevention strategies at the WAF layer
· Review security findings, including but not limited to penetration tests, bug bounty submissions, and live incidents
· Participate in on-call rotation, responding to incidents in a timely and effective manner
Qualifications:
· Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
· 5+ years of experience in a related role
· Experience with all aspects of Web & API workloads, including their underlying protocols. Additional experience supporting API-focused, native mobile and CMS applications is preferred
· Proficiency in managing cloud CDN and WAF services, preferably Akamai
· Strong understanding of TCP, DNS, TLS, HTTP and other underpinning technologies
· Experience implementing solutions to meet security best practices and related governance standards such as PCI-DSS, OWASP, etc
· Experience implementing observable systems, including experience with a variety of APM tools and techniques. Experience with one or more APM platforms is a plus, e.g. New Relic, Dynatrace, Datadog, Azure Monitor, etc.
· Proficiency in scripting and automation using tools like Python, Bash, or PowerShell
· Proficiency in working with Agile methodologies such as Scrum or Kanban
· Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
· Excellent communication and collaboration skills
