About the role
As a Java Full stack Lead Developer, you will make an impact by driving design, development, and delivery of scalable, cloud-based applications. You will be a valued member of the Technology & Engineering team and work collaboratively with developers, architects, and key business stakeholders to deliver high-quality solutions.
This role requires candidates to attend an in-person interview in Charlotte, NC.

In this role, you will:
Lead the creation of system flow diagrams and low-level design (LLD) documentation to support scalable application development
Serve as the primary point of contact for design and development activities, ensuring alignment with business and technical goals
Provide technical guidance and mentorship to team members, resolving complex technical issues
Conduct code reviews and enforce best practices to ensure high-quality, maintainable code
Participate in peer reviews, testing cycles, and quality assurance activities
Review and approve merge requests and release artifacts to maintain delivery standards
Support application deployments, releases, and production rollouts
Collaborate with stakeholders and drive knowledge transfer to sustainment and support teams after production releases

What you need to have to be considered:
8-12 years of IT experience
Strong experience with Java, J2EE, Spring Boot, and Spring Batch
Hands-on expertise in microservices architecture and RESTful API development
Experience working with AWS services, including Lambda and cloud-native architectures
Familiarity with containerization technologies and infrastructure as code (Terraform)
Strong experience with relational databases (Oracle and/or PostgreSQL)
Proven ability to lead development teams, perform code reviews, and manage releases
Experience working in agile environments with CI/CD practices
These will help you stand out:
Exposure to Generative AI concepts and prompt engineering
Experience building modern, cloud-native enterprise applications
Strong stakeholder management and cross-team coordination skills
Ability to drive knowledge sharing and continuous improvement practices

Salary and Other Compensation:
The annual salary for this position is depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
