Job Summary
The Senior .NET Engineer will design and deliver scalable, cloud-native transportation and logistics solutions using Azure and the .NET ecosystem in a hybrid day shift model. This role focuses on building secure, resilient, and high-performing applications that optimize fleet operations, routing, and shipment visibility.
You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure solutions deliver business value, operational efficiency, and strong customer satisfaction.
About the Role
As a Senior .NET Engineer, you will play a key role in designing and building backend services and cloud-native applications that power transportation and logistics platforms. You will work with modern technologies including .NET Core, ASP.NET Core Web API, SQL Server, and Azure services to develop scalable systems that handle high-volume transactions and real-time shipment tracking.
You will collaborate with product owners, business analysts, and domain experts to translate logistics requirements into efficient technical solutions, while ensuring quality through code reviews, automated testing, and performance optimization.
This role also involves working with Azure DevOps pipelines and CI/CD practices to enable reliable deployments, applying secure coding standards, and supporting production systems to maintain stability and performance.
You will contribute to continuous improvement by recommending tools, frameworks, and best practices that enhance development efficiency and align with organizational strategy, while working effectively in a hybrid and distributed team environment.

In this role, you will:
Design and implement secure scalable and maintainable applications using dotnet core aspnet mvc and aspnet core web api to address complex transportation and logistics scenarios.
Develop and optimize sql based data models queries and stored procedures to support high volume transaction processing and real time shipment tracking.
Build integrate and maintain cloud native services on azure including app services functions and storage to support resilient logistics platforms.
Configure and manage azure devops pipelines for continuous integration and continuous delivery to ensure reliable and repeatable deployments across environments.
Implement robust api design standards including versioning validation and error handling to enable seamless integration with internal and external logistics partners.
Collaborate with product owners business analysts and domain experts to translate functional requirements into technical solutions with clear acceptance criteria.
Perform detailed code reviews and provide constructive feedback to maintain high standards of code quality performance security and maintainability.
Optimize application performance by profiling bottlenecks refactoring critical components and tuning database queries to achieve responsive user experiences.
Implement comprehensive unit tests integration tests and automated test suites within azure devops to improve release confidence and reduce regression risk.
Ensure application security by applying secure coding practices role based access control and compliance with organizational and industry guidelines relevant to logistics data.
Create and maintain technical documentation including solution designs api specifications and deployment guides to enable efficient knowledge sharing.
Partner with operations and support teams to troubleshoot production incidents analyze root causes and implement long term corrective actions that improve system stability.
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by recommending tools frameworks and practices that enhance development efficiency and alignment with organizational strategy.
Work Model
We believe hybrid work is the way forward as we strive to provide flexibility wherever possible. Based on this role’s business requirements, this is a hybrid position requiring 2-3 days a week in a client or Cognizant office in either Alpharetta. GA or Atlanta, GA.

Required Qualifications
· Extensive hands on experience in dotnet programming with csharp dotnet including dotnet core aspnet mvc and aspnet core web api for enterprise grade applications.
· Strong proficiency in sql server including schema design complex joins indexing strategies and query optimization for transportation and logistics workloads.
· Practical experience working with azure services such as app services azure sql storage queues and monitoring tools in production environments.
· Proven expertise in azure devops for source control build pipelines release pipelines and work item management supporting hybrid work models.
· Deep understanding of transportation and logistics processes including order management routing tracking and freight settlement.
· Solid experience designing and consuming restful apis including authentication strategies and integration with external transportation management systems.
· Strong grounding in object oriented design principles and design patterns to create modular testable and extensible codebases.
· Ability to work effectively in a hybrid environment collaborating with distributed teams using modern communication tools.
· Familiarity with secure coding practices and data protection approaches to safeguard logistics and customer information in cloud hosted solutions.

Salary and Other Compensation
Applications will be accepted until June 07th, 2026.
The annual salary for this position ranges from $70,000 – $110,000, depending on experience and qualifications.
This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to applicable plan terms.
