Position Summary:

•Key focus of this role is to design, build, test and support iOS applications in an agile environment. This role will work closely with squad members to ensure both front and back-end software outcomes meet customer expectations. The role will also involve mentoring more junior engineers in the development, use, and evaluation of the technical feasibility of holistic IT solution options. The incumbent identifies and recommends improvements and monitors external environment to gather intelligence on emerging technologies.

Mandatory Skills:

1.Technical
• Strong proficiency in Swift, SwiftUI (iOS) and/or Kotlin
• Solid understanding of GitHub workflows
• Familiarity with mobile architecture patterns (MVVM, Clean Architecture)
• Experience integrating RESTful APIs and handling JSON
• Proficiency with testing frameworks (XCTest, JUnit)
• Knowledge of mobile UI/UX best practices
• Basic experience with mobile CI/CD pipelines and deployment processes
• Comfortable with AI-assisted programming tools (Microsoft 365 Copilot, GitHub Copilot) and evolving workflows
• Design, develop, and maintain high-quality mobile applications
• Debug, troubleshoot, and resolve complex technical issues
• Write and maintain unit, integration, and UI tests
• Follow and contribute to coding standards, architecture patterns, and best practices
• Participate in code reviews and maintain engineering quality
• Work with Tech Leads to design maintainable, robust, secure systems
• Knowledge of best practices for accessibility on mobile platform

2.General
• Participate in the technical delivery of the squad (design → deploy → operate)
• Participate in all Agile ceremonies (stand-ups, sprint planning, retros)
• Take ownership of end-to-end feature delivery (requirements → design → build → deploy)
• Collaborate with designers, product owners, and backend engineers
• Ensure applications meet functional, performance, and UX requirements
• Contribute to team practices and continuous improvement
• Continuously improve technical skills, processes, and tools
• Stay current with advancements in mobile engineering

Duties and Responsibilities:
• Analyse requirements and collaborate with Tech Leads, designers, and backend teams to define technical solutions.
• Design and implement features using Swift/SwiftUI following MVVM or Clean Architecture patterns.
• Integrate REST APIs, handle JSON data, and manage application state and error handling.
• Write clean, maintainable, and scalable code aligned with coding standards and best practices.
• Develop and execute unit, integration, and UI tests to ensure application quality and stability.
• Debug, troubleshoot, and resolve defects identified during development, QA, or production.
• Participate in code reviews, providing and incorporating constructive feedback to maintain high quality.
• Use GitHub workflows, CI/CD pipelines, and deployment tools to build, test, and release applications.
• Collaborate continuously within the agile squad and leverage AI tools (e.g., Copilot) to improve productivity and delivery efficiency.
