Job Summary
Serve as an Infra Architect specializing in mainframe storage and z OS administration for a global telecom environment designing resilient storage architectures on IBM and EMC platforms optimizing system performance ensuring data integrity and collaborating with cross functional teams in a hybrid work model to deliver secure scalable and compliant infrastructure solutions.
Responsibilities
Design and implement robust mainframe storage architectures on IBM and EMC platforms that support high volume telecom workloads and ensure long term scalability and stability for critical business services.Optimize storage utilization and data placement strategies across mainframe environments to improve performance reduce latency and align infrastructure capacity with telecom traffic patterns and growth forecasts.Configure and administer z OS systems to maintain high availability reliability and security while supporting complex telecom applications that handle customer provisioning billing and network operations.Monitor system and storage performance metrics using enterprise tools to proactively identify bottlenecks forecast capacity needs and recommend tuning actions that enhance service quality for telecom users.Develop and maintain detailed infrastructure design documents runbooks and architecture diagrams that clearly describe mainframe storage and z OS configurations for use by operations and engineering teams.Collaborate closely with telecom application network and security teams to align infrastructure designs with solution requirements regulatory guidelines and customer experience targets.Plan and execute storage migrations data moves and hardware refresh initiatives on IBM and EMC platforms while minimizing service disruption and preserving data integrity across all telecom systems.Implement and refine backup recovery and disaster recovery strategies for mainframe storage environments to ensure rapid restoration of telecom services in the event of failures or regional incidents.Perform root cause analysis for complex storage and z OS incidents document findings and introduce architecture improvements that prevent recurrence and improve overall platform resilience.Establish and enforce infrastructure standards configuration baselines and operational best practices for mainframe storage and z OS administration in alignment with enterprise governance and telecom regulations.Coordinate with hybrid work teams across locations to schedule maintenance windows deploy infrastructure changes and validate successful implementation without impacting agreed service level objectives.Advise stakeholders on the implications of new telecom services products or regulatory changes for mainframe storage and z OS infrastructure proposing designs that balance risk cost and performance.Evaluate emerging storage technologies tools and methodologies relevant to mainframe and telecom domains and recommend adoption paths that deliver measurable value to the organization and society through more reliable connectivity.
Qualifications
Demonstrate strong hands on expertise in IBM mainframe storage administration including provisioning space management performance tuning and troubleshooting across large enterprise environments.Apply advanced skills in EMC mainframe storage administration to configure monitor and optimize arrays and replication features supporting critical telecom platforms.Show deep proficiency in z OS administration activities including system configuration IPL management workload management and security controls suitable for high availability telecom operations.Bring solid domain experience in telecom processes such as subscriber management billing network management and regulatory compliance enabling infrastructure designs that effectively support industry requirements.Utilize practical experience of eight to ten years in enterprise infrastructure roles to solve complex issues coordinate with diverse teams and deliver stable mainframe solutions in hybrid work settings.Communicate effectively with technical and nontechnical partners to explain infrastructure options trade offs and implementation plans in clear and concise terms.Exhibit strong analytical and problem solving abilities to interpret performance data prioritize remediation actions and continuously enhance mainframe storage and z OS environments.
