Job Summary
This hybrid Infra Architect role focuses on designing and optimizing resilient mainframe infrastructure with a strong emphasis on CICS and MQ administration in a billing and revenue management environment. The candidate will apply eight to ten years of experience to ensure stability performance and regulatory compliance for critical enterprise financial platforms while collaborating closely with cross functional stakeholders to drive continuous improvement.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement robust mainframe infrastructure solutions that support high volume billing and revenue management applications and ensure continuous availability and reliability for business critical services.
- Optimize and tune CICS regions to handle complex transaction loads for billing and revenue processes while maintaining stable response times and consistent system throughput for enterprise users.
- Configure and administer MQ environments that securely route financial and billing messages between critical systems and applications while ensuring predictable performance and message integrity.
- Monitor and analyze mainframe performance metrics for CICS and MQ to detect early warning signals and remediate issues before they impact billing cycles and revenue recognition.
- Coordinate with application and business teams to translate billing and revenue management requirements into scalable infrastructure designs that are cost effective and aligned with organizational standards.
- Develop and maintain detailed documentation for CICS and MQ configurations backup strategies and standard operating procedures to support effective handovers and operational continuity.
- Implement and refine capacity planning models for mainframe resources to anticipate peak billing events and seasonal load variations and avoid performance bottlenecks.
- Strengthen infrastructure security controls for CICS and MQ components to protect sensitive billing and customer revenue data and support compliance with relevant regulations and corporate policies.
- Drive incident investigation and root cause analysis for infrastructure problems affecting billing and revenue platforms and define corrective actions that prevent recurrence and reduce downtime.
- Automate routine administration tasks for CICS and MQ where feasible to improve consistency reduce manual errors and free capacity for higher value engineering work.
- Collaborate with testing and release teams in a hybrid work model to validate infrastructure changes for billing and revenue systems and ensure smooth deployments without disruption to business operations.
- Guide stakeholders on infrastructure best practices for mainframe CICS and MQ in billing and revenue management contexts and promote standard patterns that improve reliability and maintainability.
- Participate in regular governance and review forums to present infrastructure health risks and improvement roadmaps that enhance the resilience of billing and revenue services.
Qualifications
- Possess eight to ten years of experience in infrastructure roles focused on mainframe environments with significant exposure to CICS administration and performance tuning in enterprise settings.
- Demonstrate strong hands on expertise in MQ administration including queue design channel configuration security controls and troubleshooting in financial or billing ecosystems.
- Bring proven experience working within billing and revenue management domains and understand rating invoicing revenue assurance and related operational processes.
- Apply solid knowledge of capacity planning performance analysis and incident management to maintain stable and predictable mainframe operations supporting revenue critical workloads.
- Show proficiency in documenting technical designs operational runbooks and configuration standards in clear language that supports collaboration within distributed hybrid teams.
- Exhibit familiarity with regulatory and compliance expectations related to financial data protection and apply relevant controls within infrastructure solutions for billing systems.
- Display effective communication skills and the ability to work with cross functional stakeholders across business and technology teams to align infrastructure designs with billing and revenue objectives.
