Job Summary
We are seeking a Endpoint Security & Compliance Engineer to serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in attack surface management and security configuration compliance. This role focuses on defining and enforcing secure configuration baselines across enterprise systems. You will work closely with technology teams to ensure compliance with industry security standards. The position requires strong expertise in vulnerability management tools, scripting, and governance frameworks.

In this role, you will:
· Plan, develop, test, and implement configuration compliance baseline policies aligned with the Secure Configuration Program.
· Collaborate with technology teams to validate security control adherence and remediate non-compliance issues.
· Ensure accurate and consistent vulnerability scanning and reporting across multiple systems and platforms.
· Utilize tools such as Qualys, Symantec, Tanium, Tenable, and similar for vulnerability and compliance assessments.
· Support attack surface management initiatives by identifying and mitigating configuration risks.
· Develop and execute scripts using Python, Bash, PowerShell, or Regex to automate compliance checks and reporting.
· Provide system administration support across Unix, Windows, and workstation environments for compliance validation.
· Engage with multiple technology domains simultaneously while maintaining high-quality security standards.
What you need to have to be considered
· 3+ years of experience with vulnerability and configuration compliance tools such as Qualys, Prisma, AppOmni, or Nutanix.
· Strong knowledge (5+ years) of compliance frameworks such as CIS Benchmarks and NIST 800-53 controls.
· Hands-on experience (3+ years) in scripting using Python, PowerShell, Bash, or Regex for automation tasks.
· Working knowledge of Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) principles and practices.
· Familiarity with system administration across Unix, Windows, or workstation environments.
· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple security tools and platforms.

Salary and Other Compensation:
The annual salary for this position is between $[114,500 - 134,000] depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
