About the role
As a Senior Appian Developer, you will make an impact by designing and delivering scalable Appian-based workflow solutions that streamline business processes, enhance data-driven decisions, and improve customer experiences. You will be a valued member of the Application Development team and work collaboratively with business analysts, architects, DevOps teams, and enterprise stakeholders.
In this role, you will:
Lead the design and development of scalable Appian workflow applications aligned to enterprise standards
Build and optimize Appian components including interfaces, process models, rules, and data structures
Develop and manage integrations using REST APIs and JSON-based services across enterprise platforms
Implement DevOps practices including CI/CD pipelines to automate build, test, and deployment
Monitor performance, troubleshoot issues, and continuously improve application reliability and user experience
What you need to have to be considered
6+ years of hands-on Appian development experience delivering enterprise workflow solutions
Strong expertise in DevOps practices including CI/CD, version control, and environment management
Advanced experience with RESTful services and JSON-based integrations
Solid experience with MariaDB including data modeling, query optimization, and performance tuning
Strong BPMN modeling skills with ability to design efficient and scalable business processes
These will help you stand out
Experience with Appian AI capabilities for intelligent automation and decisioning
Strong understanding of enterprise data models and relational database design
Experience working in hybrid delivery models with distributed teams
Prior experience optimizing application performance and scalability
Appian certifications or related BPM/low-code platform expertise

Salary and Other Compensation:
The annual salary for this position is between $102,000 – 116,000 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
