Job Summary
Sr Administrator with five to seven years of SAP archiving experience will manage end to end data lifecycle activities in a hybrid work environment ensuring compliant storage efficient retrieval and optimized system performance while collaborating with supply chain stakeholders in consumer goods to support reliable planning reporting and operational excellence across global operations.
Responsibilities
- Administer SAP archiving processes for multiple landscapes to ensure secure retention timely cleanup and optimal system performance across enterprise environments.
- Design archiving schedules and retention strategies that balance legal compliance audit readiness and operational efficiency for business critical applications.
- Coordinate with functional supply chain teams to identify data objects suitable for archiving and to validate that business requirements are met without disrupting daily operations.
- Monitor archive jobs analyze performance metrics and tune parameters to reduce system load improve batch throughput and maintain stable day shift operations.
- Document archiving procedures configuration settings and run books in clear language so that operations teams can follow consistent practices in the hybrid work model.
- Collaborate with infrastructure and database specialists to optimize storage utilization and to ensure archived content remains accessible within agreed service levels.
- Perform root cause analysis on archiving job failures or data inconsistencies and implement corrective actions that prevent recurrence and protect data integrity.
- Coordinate test cycles for new archiving objects and configuration changes by preparing test plans organizing user validations and capturing sign off from key stakeholders.
- Provide day shift support to resolve user incidents related to archived data access by analyzing requests tracing objects and restoring information where appropriate.
- Align SAP archiving practices with corporate records management policies and regulatory expectations so that the organization can demonstrate responsible data stewardship.
- Prepare status reports and dashboards that summarize archiving activities storage savings and risk mitigation outcomes in terms that are meaningful to supply chain and finance partners.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by proposing enhancements in archiving design automation and monitoring that help reduce manual effort and operational risk.
- Partner with consumer goods supply chain experts to ensure that historical data used for forecasting and analysis remains trustworthy timely and supportive of sustainable business decisions.
Qualifications
- Possess five to seven years of hands on experience in SAP archiving including object configuration job scheduling troubleshooting and ongoing operational support.
- Display strong understanding of SAP data lifecycle concepts such as residence rules retention policies and archive information structure design applied to large scale systems.
- Demonstrate practical exposure to supply chain processes within consumer goods environments including order fulfillment inventory management and logistics coordination.
- Exhibit solid analytical and problem solving abilities that enable careful diagnosis of archiving issues and thoughtful communication of remediation options to stakeholders.
- Show familiarity with compliance and audit requirements related to data retention so that archiving solutions support legal financial and corporate governance expectations.
- Apply effective communication and collaboration skills to work productively in a hybrid work model with colleagues and partners across geographies and time zones.
- Utilize knowledge of basic performance tuning batch management and system monitoring tools to maintain reliable day shift operations without requiring travel.
