Job Summary
The IBM InfoSphere Administrator is responsible for installing, configuring, supporting, and maintaining IBM InfoSphere platforms used for data integration and governance. This role ensures data systems are stable, secure, and available to support healthcare reporting and analytics needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, configure, and administer IBM InfoSphere components (DataStage, Information Server, QualityStage, Metadata Workbench).
- Monitor system performance and ensure high availability of InfoSphere environments.
- Perform user access management, security setup, and role-based permissions.
- Troubleshoot and resolve application, batch, and performance issues.
- Support ETL jobs, scheduling, and job recovery.
- Apply patches, upgrades, and fixes as required.
- Work closely with data engineers, developers, and infrastructure teams.
- Maintain documentation for system setup, processes, and support procedures.
- Ensure compliance with healthcare data standards (HIPAA, data security policies).
Required Skills & Experience
- 5+ years of experience as an IBM InfoSphere Administrator.
- Strong experience with IBM InfoSphere DataStage and Information Server.
- Good knowledge of Linux/Unix operating systems.
- Experience with databases (Oracle, DB2, SQL Server).
- Understanding of ETL processes and data warehousing concepts.
- Experience in production support and incident management.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in healthcare or insurance domain.
- Knowledge of scheduling tools (Control-M, Autosys, or similar).
- Familiarity with cloud environments (AWS/Azure is a plus).
- Strong communication and documentation skills.
