Job Summary
This role supports default servicing operations as a service processing executive with focus on accurate data handling report preparation and issue tracking for mortgage and loan portfolios. The professional uses strong MS Excel skills to manage critical default servicing data while working in a structured night shift office environment ensuring risk aware and compliant outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Manage default servicing case data by updating validating and reconciling loan level information in MS Excel to maintain accurate records and support timely processing of customer accounts.
- Prepare structured Excel based reports that summarize key default servicing metrics to provide operations teams and stakeholders with clear visibility of portfolio trends and exceptions.
- Analyze delinquency and default patterns using Excel formulas and data tools to identify anomalies potential control gaps and opportunities for process improvement.
- Coordinate with internal operations teams through documented workflows to ensure default servicing activities are completed within defined timelines and quality standards.
- Execute daily work queues in a night shift office environment by following standard operating procedures and checklists that support continuous business coverage.
- Validate completeness and accuracy of documents received for default servicing by cross checking data fields and updating tracking logs in Excel.
- Escalate process issues and data discrepancies through defined channels to enable timely resolution and to reduce operational and regulatory risk.
- Maintain thorough documentation of actions taken on each case in line with default servicing guidelines to support audit readiness and transparent case histories.
- Apply awareness of property related aspects in default servicing to ensure tasks connected to property preservation and maintenance follow documented instructions where applicable.
- Support adherence to operation risk practices by consistently following control checks and documenting any exceptions or potential issues identified during processing.
- Collaborate with quality review teams by providing clean and well organized Excel files that support independent review of default servicing activities.
- Contribute to continuous improvement by sharing observations on recurring issues and suggesting practical enhancements to templates and checklists used in daily work.
- Adhere to all company policies and client expectations related to confidentiality information security and ethical conduct while handling sensitive customer data.
Qualifications
- Possess professional experience of at least two years in operations or back office processing with direct hands on use of MS Excel for data analysis and reporting.
- Demonstrate strong proficiency in Excel functions such as lookups pivot tables filters and conditional formulas to work efficiently with large default servicing data sets.
- Show familiarity with mortgage or loan servicing concepts including delinquency stages default timelines and fee handling even if learned through prior roles or training.
- Exhibit exposure to property preservation processes such as status tracking and vendor updates as part of default or real estate related operations where available.
- Display understanding of operation risk concepts such as controls monitoring documentation standards and regulatory awareness within financial services operations.
- Communicate clearly in spoken and written form to document case actions collaborate with peers and respond accurately to process related queries.
- Adapt comfortably to fixed night shift work from office requirements and maintain consistent productivity and accuracy during scheduled working hours.
Certifications Required
Preferred certifications include MS Excel Specialist or equivalent and any operations risk or mortgage servicing related certification.
