Job Summary

The Functional Architect will design and optimize SAP Master Data Governance solutions with focus on custom domains business partner processes and data quality analytics ensuring reliable data for enterprise operations. The role involves collaborating with cross functional stakeholders to define MDG architectures govern change request processes and support hybrid work arrangements within a global MNC environment.


Responsibilities

  • Design and implement robust SAP Master Data Governance architectures that align with enterprise data strategies and support scalable business growth across regions and functions.
  • Define and configure MDG custom domains to support complex master data structures while ensuring consistency traceability and compliance with organizational standards.
  • Architect and refine MDG Business Partner processes to enable accurate partner lifecycle management and seamless integration with core transactional systems.
  • Develop and enhance MDG BADI validation and derivation logic to enforce complex business rules and automate data enrichment across multiple domains.
  • Collaborate with business and technical teams to translate functional requirements into MDG solution designs that are efficient maintainable and resilient to change.
  • Establish and monitor data quality frameworks using MDG data quality and analytics capabilities to identify anomalies track trends and drive continuous improvement.
  • Design and optimize change request processes in MDG to ensure efficient approvals clear accountability and timely deployment of master data changes.
  • Coordinate with integration teams to ensure that MDG solutions interoperate smoothly with upstream and downstream applications including ERP and analytical platforms.
  • Document functional designs configuration decisions and process flows in a clear and comprehensive manner to support knowledge sharing and system maintainability.
  • Provide guidance during testing cycles by preparing functional test cases validating results and supporting defect resolution for MDG enhancements.
  • Support production operations by analyzing incidents identifying root causes and recommending sustainable improvements to MDG configurations and processes.
  • Evaluate emerging MDG features and complementary technologies to recommend enhancements that improve data governance maturity and business value.
  • Engage in hybrid working practices by effectively coordinating work across onsite and remote stakeholders while maintaining high standards of communication and delivery.


Qualifications

  • Combine a minimum of ten years of experience in SAP implementations with significant focus on Master Data Governance functional architecture and configuration.
  • Apply deep expertise in MDG custom domains to model complex master data entities and relationships that meet demanding business scenarios.
  • Demonstrate strong hands on experience with MDG Business Partner functionality including configuration of roles relationships validations and integration touchpoints.
  • Utilize practical experience in MDG BADI validation and derivation to design efficient rule frameworks that reduce manual effort and improve data reliability.
  • Bring proven experience in MDG solution architecture by aligning business processes governance policies and technical components into cohesive solutions.
  • Use MDG data quality and analytics tools to define scorecards metrics and dashboards that provide transparent visibility into data health.
  • Show practical knowledge of MDG change request process implementation including workflow design user task configuration and escalation handling.
  • Leverage exposure to healthcare and life sciences standards such as OMOP FHIR and HL7 to design master data processes that support regulatory and interoperability needs.
  • Apply understanding of structural biology and modelling domains to shape data models that support scientific clinical or research driven processes.
  • Exhibit strong stakeholder communication skills to facilitate workshops gather requirements and explain complex MDG concepts in accessible language.
  • Adapt effectively to a hybrid work model by managing time priorities and collaboration tools to ensure consistent delivery during day shift operations.
  • Display familiarity with global MNC delivery environments including standard delivery processes documentation practices and quality controls.
