Job Summary
Serve as a senior developer specializing in Python based data integration on cloud platforms for property and casualty insurance solutions designing and implementing robust ETL pipelines that support analytics reporting and operational systems in a hybrid work model while collaborating across teams to deliver secure scalable and high quality outcomes.
Responsibilities
Design robust Python based data integration and transformation solutions that enable accurate and timely information flow for property and casualty insurance operations and analytics needs.Develop scalable ETL workflows using AWS Glue Studio and AWS Glue ETL to ingest cleanse enrich and publish insurance policy and claims data for downstream consumption.Implement optimized data models and storage patterns in Amazon S3 that support efficient querying reporting and actuarial analysis for complex insurance portfolios.Collaborate with underwriting claims actuarial and finance stakeholders to translate domain requirements into technical specifications and data processing rules that are practical and maintainable.Create reusable Python modules and Glue jobs that standardize handling of policy rating claims reserving and billing data thus improving consistency and reducing maintenance effort.Monitor ETL pipelines and cloud resources to ensure reliable day to day operations proactively resolving data quality performance and capacity issues before they impact business users.Apply property and casualty insurance domain knowledge to validate data mappings business rules and calculations so that outputs align with regulatory reporting and internal control expectations.Implement secure access patterns logging and data lifecycle practices on Amazon S3 and related services that protect sensitive customer and financial information while supporting audit readiness.Document technical designs job configurations data dictionaries and operational runbooks in clear language to support knowledge sharing onboarding and long term sustainability of data solutions.Coordinate with quality engineering and business teams to design and execute test scenarios that validate end to end data correctness for policies endorsements claims and reinsurance arrangements.Optimize Glue job performance through partitioning tuning of transformations and efficient use of cloud resources leading to faster refresh cycles and improved cost effectiveness.Support hybrid work collaboration through effective use of digital tools regular check ins and clear communication so that distributed team members remain aligned on goals and delivery timelines.Contribute to continuous improvement by evaluating new AWS features and Python libraries and proposing enhancements that increase automation resilience and value for insurance stakeholders.Participate in peer reviews and knowledge sessions that spread best practices for Python coding ETL design and cloud data engineering across the wider development community.
Qualifications
Possess strong hands on experience in Python development including data processing error handling logging and packaging of reusable components for enterprise data solutions.Demonstrate advanced skills in AWS Glue Studio AWS Glue and AWS Glue ETL including job orchestration connection management schema evolution and catalog integration for varied insurance datasets.Show practical expertise with Amazon S3 as a primary data lake platform including partition strategies folder structures and security configurations suitable for regulated data.Bring solid domain experience in property and casualty insurance such as policy lifecycle claims management pricing and regulatory reporting to ensure solutions reflect real world practices.Exhibit capability to work in a hybrid environment using collaborative tools version control and agile methods to coordinate closely with cross functional teams without frequent travel.Display strong analytical and problem solving abilities that support troubleshooting of complex ETL failures data anomalies and performance bottlenecks in production environments.Apply clear communication and documentation skills to explain technical concepts and data flows to non technical stakeholders within underwriting claims finance and compliance functions.
Certifications Required
Good to have AWS Certified Data Analytics Specialty or AWS Certified Developer Associate or equivalent cloud data engineering certification related to AWS and Python
