Cognizant (LSMG) are currently executing a number of projects/services for large Biotech and Pharma clients in Ireland. We are looking for dedicated innovative and driven talent to join our expanding teams. We require a PI Engineer to join a project/service team in Ireland where you will be responsible for project delivery /commissioning / on-site support activities.

Serve as a senior consultant specializing in AVEVA PI Historian shaping data driven solutions that optimize industrial operations across diverse client environments. Apply extensive experience to architect implement and enhance historian ecosystems that improve reliability transparency and decision quality. Collaborate in a hybrid work model with cross functional teams to deliver sustainable business value.

Responsibilities

  • Design robust AVEVA PI Historian architectures that ensure high availability scalability and secure access to time series operational data for enterprise stakeholders
  • Implement end to end PI data pipelines that capture real time signals from control systems and devices to enable accurate monitoring analysis and reporting for clients
  • Configure PI interfaces asset frameworks and event frames to provide well structured contextualized data that supports advanced analytics and operational intelligence
  • Optimize historian performance by tuning data collection compression and archiving strategies so that storage costs are controlled while signal fidelity remains suitable for engineering use
  • Develop reusable PI templates and standards that promote consistent modeling of assets and processes across client sites to reduce implementation time and future maintenance effort
  • Create visual dashboards and reports using AVEVA tools and compatible analytics platforms to help business and operations teams understand equipment health production trends and anomalies
  • Collaborate with client technology and operations teams in the hybrid work model to gather requirements validate solutions and ensure alignment with business goals and regulatory constraints
  • Guide clients on best practices for historian governance including data quality procedures user access models and change management so that solutions remain sustainable over time
  • Troubleshoot complex historian issues across networks interfaces and client tools to restore reliable data access quickly and document root causes for continuous improvement
  • Coordinate closely with cybersecurity and infrastructure teams to embed secure configuration practices in PI environments while maintaining practical usability for engineering and business users
  • Prepare clear technical documentation including architecture diagrams configuration guidelines and operational runbooks so that client teams can operate and support the solution confidently
  • Provide knowledge transfer and mentoring to client and internal teams on AVEVA PI Historian usage configuration and troubleshooting so that expertise is shared and operational risk is reduced
  • Align consulting work with the company purpose by promoting data driven decisions that enhance safety energy efficiency and resource stewardship across industrial operations

Qualifications

  • Bring twelve to sixteen years of overall experience with significant hands on exposure to industrial data systems and at least several years focused on AVEVA PI Historian solution delivery
  • Demonstrate strong practical skills in configuring PI servers interfaces PI Asset Framework and event frames with a history of successful production deployments in complex environments
  • Show proven ability to translate process engineering or operations requirements into detailed PI data models and visualization designs that directly address client business objectives
  • Exhibit solid understanding of networking operating systems and databases sufficient to collaborate effectively with infrastructure teams when deploying or upgrading historian components
  • Apply effective communication skills to explain technical concepts to both specialist and non specialist audiences while working with distributed teams in a hybrid work setting
  • Display experience working within structured project methodologies while remaining flexible enough to adapt historian designs to evolving client needs and regulatory expectations
  • Illustrate commitment to continuous learning in industrial data platforms analytics and cloud integration topics so that historian solutions remain current and future ready for clients
